The right one flew up. Ached from having been in the same position for so long.

She half sat up. Pulled her other arm out of the restraint. Felt around the ropes at her legs. Found the knot underneath.

Tugged, twisted, pulled. Repeated.

It came loose.

She nearly shrieked with joy. Stopped herself just in time.

Couldn’t risk him hearing her. She doubted he was nearby. Had likely gone home for the night. Sleeping like a baby in bed while leaving her in this place. Probably in the middle of nowhere. She had to be right about her abandoned building theory.

Rita swung her legs over the side of the bed. Pain shot through her muscles.

This time she did cry out. Covered her mouth and silently cursed her captor.

He would pay. She would see to that. If she couldn’t get out of the room before he came, then she would attack him when he showed up. Take him by surprise and tie him up. Let him go hungry and have his muscles ache from lack of movement.
