Kelly won’t stop screaming in absolute horror as she watches Chad bleed to death before her eyes. I can’t say I blame her. She did birth me, after all. I’m sure she’s wondering how she could have possibly given birth to something so evil.
Too bad she can’t see how much worse she is than me. At least I rid the world of sick individuals like her.
I walk over to her and rip the tape off without warning, making her scream out in pain. “What did you do?!” she shrieks, completely hysterical.
“Calm down, Kelly,” I say, slapping her across the face to snap her out of it.
Devon barks out a laugh as Dylan turns back around. It’s clear he’s doing everything he can to avoid looking at Chad right now, but I get that.
“Dyl, if this is too much for you, I have a job you could do instead,” I tell him, stepping away from Kelly as she stares at me with horror.
“What do you need me to do?” he asks. “I don’t want to leave you,” he tells me, and I smile at him lovingly.
“It’s okay. She isn’t Robert. It’s okay if you can’t be here for this part,” I tell him gently.
He pushes out a deep breath, nodding in thanks. “Tell me where you need me, Brie,” he whispers.
It’s kind of a wonder Kelly isn’t screaming right now, but I think she’s in shock after watching her husband die. Not to mention the new information that I also killed her last husband.
Huh. Two for two. Ironic.
“I didn’t finish digging the burn pit behind the shed. Could you do that for me?” I ask him gently.
“You got it, Brie,” he says, leaning forward to kiss the top of my head. I assume it’s the only place that’s not currently covered in blood.
Once he’s gone, I move to the end of the bench and grab one of the rags out of the bucket. I use it to wipe my arms clean, remembering Dylan said it was water with a little bleach added in so she doesn’t die from ingestion immediately.
Tossing the rag on the bench, I look her over in more detail.
Her hair is a darker blonde than mine, and she has it cut into a bob. Most likely to look like the perfect, picturesque wife while hiding her dark secret.
“You know,” I start, moving back toward her so she can see my face. “I suffered for years at his hands.” I shake my head, refusing to let my tears fall as the past comes flooding back.
“So what?” she hisses at me, anger coming back at the mention of daddy dearest.
“So, I’m going to tell you everything that bastard did to me while you choke on bleach.” I lean in closer. “It was how I killed Daddy, too. I soaked a ball gag in bleach for days before putting it into his mouth.”
She swallows, looking nervous. “He deserved it. He was a cheap son of a bitch,” she says indignantly, and I snort.
“That’s the only reason you think he deserved to die? What about the fact that he raped me repeatedly while telling me I was his good girl and he loved me?” I take a shuddering breath. “Or the fact that he started sharing me with his friends when I was ten years old.”
“How could you give birth to an innocent and beautiful baby, then leave her in the hands of someone you knew would harm her?” Devon growls, moving to wrap his hand around my mother’s throat.
She says nothing.
I grab the other cloth still soaking in the bucket, wringing it almost all the way out before moving back to her head. “I’m going to put this in your mouth and then you’re going to listen.”
Devon releases his hold on her before grabbing the tape he had earlier. Once the gag is in place, she immediately starts coughing from the fumes.
Choke on that, bitch.
“I stabbed him first. Daddy came at me, ready to hit me for talking back and bringing my guys to the house. What he didn’t know is I’d come home that night to kill him.” I look her in the eyes. “Him and the three friends he shared me with.”
“She was absolutely brilliant that night,” Dev tells her. “She was sixteen and masterminded a mass murder without anyone ever questioning her alibi.”
Kelly looks between us, her eyes watering from the bleach burning her mouth and sinuses.
“He never took me seriously when I told him I would kill them all. And I told him often,” I tell Kelly, shaking my head. “But, since I couldn’t completely kill him, I had to torture him instead.” I walk around her head to the other side of the bench, making her breathe faster from fear.
