“Just fucking call them. Now!” And he hangs up.
Quickly pulling up Barren’s name, I dial him.
“Come on, come on. Answer the fucking phone, you reclusive and anxious shithead,” I whisper into the universe.
“What’s up? Haliee is about to lose her fucking shit, and we’re doing our best to calm her the fuck down,” he snaps at me.
“Well, try fucking harder because I need you here. The guys were attacked by sixteen masked assholes, and I need backup. Fucking leave her at home,” I point out, and he snorts.
“Yeah, I’m not an idiot. Be there soon.” He hangs up the phone and I sit back against the tree across the road, watching and waiting.
Within five minutes, a dozen of them have left the building again, looking all smug as shit, but Mathias and Creed aren’t with them. That leaves four guys total.
Odds say two will be with them at all times, which leaves two for Barren and I to take care of.
You’d think Dimitri would have learned his lesson by now when it comes to underestimating us, and maybe he has. If he has them chained up, that’s something even Creed has issues getting out of.
Fuck, come on Barren. Hurry up!

“What the fuck is going on?” I bark at Ollie as he fiddles with his iPad anxiously.
“Attack, backup. Guys leaving so there’s only four for them all to deal with.” He sighs at that news, falling back into his seat.
“Want to tell me that in fucking English rather than broken fucking sentences, Ollie?” I snap, and he huffs out a breath.
“Matt and Creed were attacked by sixteen guys. They blew up the door and knocked out my cameras, so I have no clue what’s happening inside of the building anywhere near Daniels’ apartment.” My fists tighten on the steering wheel as I glare at Daniels ahead of us.
“Fuck!” I punch the steering wheel, but Ollie doesn’t even flinch.
“However, twelve of them just left, and Barren should be on the way to help Torren get them. That’s nothing for any of us,” he points out, and I relax my grip a little.
“Do you think this is all a trap to get us separated from Haliee?” I ask him, but the only response I get are his screams.
Out of nowhere, we’re being hit and careening off the road, down into a deep ditch. Glass is flying everywhere as Ollie and I both scream before the car slams into something hard, and everything goes black.
