Page 64 of Seduction

Sitting here waiting for the guys to do their thing to get the intel we need, I pull my phone out to check it.

Kristen:

Girl, I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages! I miss your face.

I smile at my phone while the echoes of torture fill the room. I knew they were insane, but the level of enjoyment Creed is getting from inflicting pain on these guys is a new side to witness.

At least I can live knowing he’s only inflicting the pain on people who really fucking deserve it.

My guys may be dark and unhinged, but they’re dark for the right reasons and never prey on the innocent.

“Tell me where he is!” Creed barks at the one guy from the park before throwing his fast into his jaw, and I wince.

“I don’t know!” the man wheezes, spitting up blood.

“Bullshit! Who gave you the orders to come ambush our girl?” Lukas is seething as he walks up to the men to join Creed.

The rest of us are hanging back a bit, allowing those two to work out their anger.

Me:

God, I miss you too! When are you coming back?

She’s been away since before Dad was taken. Her father sent her on some sort of educational retreat bullshit.

Kristen:

Fuck, soon, I hope. I don’t see how this is supposed to be an educational retreat. I’m literally just lying on the beach all day and flirting with boys.

No teachers, no other students. It’s a vacation.

I snort, wishing I could be on a vacation and a world away from my problems right now.

“What are you snorting at, sweetheart?” Cord snuggles into my side, and the others turn to look at me.

“Kristen.” I shrug. “Her dad sent her on a vacation in the middle of the school term and called it an education retreat, and she’s complaining,” I say, shaking my head. “Was just thinking how nice it would be to be a world away from our problems right now, you know?” I sigh when I’ve voiced my thoughts, and Ollie comes to my other side.

“Angel, everything will work out,” he promises. “When we get your dad back and take care of the fucker who wants to take you, we can go on vacation.”

Barren, Mathias, and Torren grunt in agreement.

“Fuck, yeah. I could use some time away from here,” Torren says, giving me a sweet smile.

“Agreed,” Mathias adds.

“As long as I have a way to work out and enjoy my snacks, I’m good.” Barren wiggles his eyebrows in a suggestive manner, making me giggle.

“Daniels! Daniels is the one that sent us out there, okay?!” one of the hostages shouts, and our heads snap to them.

“What?” I whisper, standing and making my way closer to Luke and Creed, the others right behind me.

“Say that again?” Lukas demands, narrowing his eyes at the three of them.

“We were hired by Daniels to grab her. Or at least, he’s the one we get the orders from. I doubt he’s really in charge, but he’s the one we take orders from.” The guy hangs his head, blood coating his face.

The other guys are in just as rough of shape, and I’m not even sure one of them is still breathing as I look them over.

“Agent Daniels. The FBI agent?” Mathias scowls, and the guy’s eyes widen slightly.
