Page 5 of Seduction

She’s hurting and it’s all my fucking fault.

I knew better than to split up from Brent, but Haliee was my first and only concern at the time. I needed to make sure the love of my life was safe, and I did.

I just did it at the expense of her happiness.

Fuck! She wouldn’t have even been out of the house if she hadn’t heard I lied to her by simply omitting the truth, and I’m going to live with that for the rest of my life.

I was fooling myself into thinking she wouldn’t make a big deal out of it, but knowingly running into the woods when she felt someone watching her? I have half a mind to tan her ass for that, and I will. When she’s not so emotionally distraught.

She needs to learn that we’re a family and we make decisions together. We don’t go running off just because we’re upset.

When I heard her scream, I swear to fuck my heart stopped. I don’t think I’m going to sleep for weeks, worried she will run again.

I need to fix this…I just don’t know where to start.

I will show her how much I love her, and take the brunt of her anger as long as she needs me to. I will prove to her she’s not alone anymore.

Corden

This is what a heart attack feels like. It has to be.

Fucking hell, she scared the shit out of us all by running. Watching those men come for her was literally the most terrifying moment of my entire fucking life, and that’s saying something.

Dear God, what was she thinking?!

“She’s not going to be happy with us,” Ollie says from the couch, and we all look at him.

“You think? Her father was taken by men for hire,” Barren scoffs, and I want to throttle him.

“Don’t be an asshole right now, bro.” I clench my fists and he watches me.

“She fucking ran! It’s clear she didn’t want to be with us in the first place.” He’s angry as fuck, trying to mask the hurt he’s feeling.

I sigh. “She ran because she found out that Luke kept Creed’s pillow stunt a secret.” Ollie is vibrating as we all look at him with wide eyes.

“Ollie,” Creed whispers and Ollie’s eyes cut to him.

“I fucking failed her!” he screams before breaking down and crying in Creed’s arms.

Holy. Shit.

“Hey, we all did. We all kept that secret. This isn’t your fault, Ollie Bear,” Creed murmurs into his head as he holds him tight.

“I’m the one that stopped watching his monitor,” he croaks into Creed’s chest.

“You put our girl first. She may be pissed at the lot of us for a while, but you have to know Brent would have killed us all if we had put him before Haliee,” he points out, and I swallow down the emotion in my throat.

I’ve never seen Ollie and Creed like this. It’s a rare look into their relationship, and it’s jarring to see them so…loving.

“She’ll never forgive me if we don’t get him back,” he whispers so low I barely hear him, and I stand, making my way over to the other side of him.

“She will, Ollie. She just needs time. We all have a lot to make up for, but you not watching Brent is what he would have wanted. If you hadn’t gotten Creed to her when you did, she’d be the one gone. Possibly even both of them.”

Matt takes a harsh breath and I look over to him. “We’re going to get her dad back, and we’re going to bring this fucker down once and for all, so she can live the life she deserves.” He stands and starts pacing the room.

It’s what he does when he’s thinking.

I turn to look back at my brother and he looks wrecked.
