“I’ve never seen this wig before,” Sherry said when I walked over to sit behind the counter. “I like this one the best.”

“This is my real hair. Are you sure it looks good?” I brushed at my hair with my fingers.

“I’m sure.”

“It’s showtime, girls,” Charlie called out on his way to the main entrance.

I heard the band start with Christmas music. I motioned for the elves to line up in two lines on either side of the red carpet. I greeted each group of guests and assigned an elf to them. At one point, I saw that Asher guy walk by, but he never stopped.

What does this guy do that he’s a guest at this party? Nice suit, though.

The next hour we continued greeting guests and escorting them. I was so happy to see most of them were very receptive to getting a picture with Santa. Every once in awhile I would pop into a picture behind Santa. Once everyone was inside, we could take a break. I walked around with the cell phone and snapped a few pictures for the mystery man.

“This is a nice party. I was hoping to meet other cell phones”

“Don’t lose hope, these guests will get their electronics out soon.”

“Pictures as promised.”I sent him a picture from the buffet view.

“Nice pictures. Did you just take those?”

“Are you trying to find me, finally?

Chapter 49

Asher

“Maybe I am trying to find you. Do you want to find me?”

“Let’s see if we can find each other with clues.”

“That’s not fair, you can Google information.”

“So can you, with the phone you left me for.”

My cell phone was messaging, and I wanted to see who this person was, finally. The pictures she had sent were from only minutes ago. I should have been able to spot someone on a cell, but I saw nothing.

“Who you looking for?” August asked, stepping in next to me. “Must be a girl by the look on your face.”

“For your information, it is a girl, but not one of my regular girls,” I argued back.

“Uh-huh, so who is it?” he smirked. “Just because you did an amazing job on the mall and this party, doesn’t mean you’re not Asher still.”

“That’s not fair. Look at me in this fancy suit, too.” I spun around showing my outfit. “The old me would be in shorts and flip-flops, or jeans.”

“That’s true. So, who’s this girl?” August asked.

“Are you two talking about his mystery woman?’ Sawyer joined us. “She has his old cell phone. She’s been texting with him for weeks.”

“Do tell.” August leaned on the railing by the workshop. “What’s her name?”

“That’s the best part. He has no idea who she is,” Sawyer laughed.

“I do so. Her name is Apple,” I argued.

“Apple? I guess that makes sense. Wasn’t your last girlfriend named Candy?” August and Sawyer laughed.

“I’m not talking to you two.” I walked off.
