My fist hit his face, and his eyes returned to Olivia again. Taking his face roughly between my fingers, I pressed them hard against his jaw. “I told you not to look at my woman,” I warned him. “What did I tell you I would do?”

Watching him now, I knew Malcome was never going to let Olivia go. He was completely obsessed with his sick fascination over her. It made me sick to see him watching her with hunger.

I pushed the knife against his eye socket, blood trickling down his face.

“I told you I’d dig your eyeballs out,” I pressed the knife even harder, bones crunching under the force. The only reason I wouldn’t go through with it, and it was an empty threat, was for Olivia’s benefit. I would never want her to see that.

But he didn’t know that, and he finally got the point. His gaze finally darted away from her and returned to me.

“Who helped Boris escape?” I asked him, pressing the knife against his flesh.

“I did. You three will lose,” he taunted, blood drooling out of his mouth.

“Boris is dead,” I spat back at him.

“He never mattered,” he laughed maniacally. “We were going to sell the women after we were done with them. They’ll be haunted.”

There was a crazed look in his eyes.

“Explain.” He just taunted with his sick smile. My fist connected with his face and blood spurted out of his mouth.

He just kept laughing. He must have been truly crazy. I had enough of this bullshit. He wasn’t worth my time. I went over to sink, washed my hands and came back to him.

“I know you and Vlad are cousins. What is he planning?” I demanded although I had a feeling Malcome was too far gone in his head to be helpful. Assuming he even knew what Vlad was planning.

His eyes were on me, and he kept muttering. “You kill me, you’ll never know till Olivia and other women are gone.”

“Tell me then,” I urged him. It wouldn’t matter what he revealed, he was dying today.

“Should have left Olivia to me,” he mumbled. He kept laughing like he was possessed. There would be no information coming from him.

I pulled the gun out and pointed it at his head. Then before I pulled the trigger, I glanced behind my shoulder. Olivia stood there watching the whole thing. She was pale but there was no fear on her face.

There were no words needed. Our eyes locked and a light nod from her was all I needed. Turning around, Malcome was mutteringmine, his eyes desperate.

I pulled the trigger, the deafening sound echoing throughout the house. Malcome’s eyes searched out Olivia but she was behind me, using my body as her shield against his obsession. She denied him the last glimpse of herself, and I watched with inner peace the light extinguish in his eyes.

“I’m so ready to go home,” she murmured in a tired sigh, her forehead against my back. My body slightly stiffened. I didn’t expect her to want to go to the States so soon. Her eyes turned back to me. “Can we just erase today and go back home? I woke up in such a good mood.”

A wide smile spread on my face. She wanted to go back to the river. She thought of it as her home.

“Yes, let’s go home.”

Chapter Forty-Two

Olivia

Two weeks later

“No more, Nikolai,” I begged him, his head between my legs. I just came off my third orgasm, my body wrapped in the sweetest soreness.

“Giving up already?” he teased me. He came up hovering over my body, pressing his lips against mine.

“Not giving up,” I chuckled softly. “I just need some rest.”

“Olivia,” his voice was soft, causing those familiar butterflies in my stomach.

“Hmmm?” I wrapped my arms around his neck, relishing his warmth and weight on me. It was like a security blanket.
