“He asked if you had been forced.”
“Yes,” she replied quietly. “They kidnapped me.”
I balled my fists in rage but I kept my voice emotionless as I translated what she said. The doctor gently patted her hand. He said the next words and I almost wished I wasn’t the translator here.
She waited expectantly, her eyes glued to my back. I worked to remove all emotions out of my voice.
“He said he’ll have to perform a gynecologist exam, take blood tests, and give you pills to ensure you don’t get pregnant.”
“What?” her voice sounded undignified.
I turned around, her request to avert my eyes bluntly ignored and we locked eyes. She must have forgotten she was almost naked, only in her bra and panties. And fuck, she was a goddess that could easily bring me to my knees.
“I know it’s hard but it’s for the best.” I tried to soothe her.
She watched me pensively and then her eyes lit up.Strange, I thought to myself.
“Oh, that is what you meant.” She started shaking her head. “I’m sorry, so stupid of me. I was nervous and didn’t follow. No, nobody forced themselves on me.” Her eyes darted between the doctor and me. “There were three of them that tried but…” she swallowed hard. “But the others wouldn’t let them near me.”
I translated her words to the doctor and felt relieved to know she didn’t have to endure that. No woman should ever have to endure that. Frustrated for letting my desire for this woman get the best of me, mentally I reprimanded the devil in me that spat those words at her earlier. Here I was threatening to whip her pussy and promising she’d like it while for the last two weeks she endured hell. I was a damn brute of the worst sort that didn’t deserve a woman like her for sure.
The doctor spoke up again. “The doctor wants me to confirm so we are all clear. You weren’t raped?” I translated for him.
“No,” she shook her head. “I wasn’t raped. Just kicked a few times.”
She pulled her hand through her hair. “I don’t mean it to sound like it is ok but I’d rather take that over… well, the alternative.”
I nodded calmly, although anger flowed through my veins. I wanted to go back and burn that house down. Every man that hurt her would be tortured for days while the next in line watched and waited for his turn. I would make each one of them regret ever looking Anastasia’s way.
The doctor followed up with the question, and I decided as soon as I had a moment, I’d order Anastasia Manciatti the Rosetta Stone like she asked. Certain things about women I didn’t want to know.
“He asked when was the last time you had intercourse? And if you are on any form of birth control?”
Fuck, I didn’t want to know when was the last time she had intercourse. Was it with the guy that was assigned to her protection? The one she danced with at the club? A blush spread from her neck to her face and she took a deep breath.
“I was on birth control, yes, but didn’t have access to it in the last two weeks,” she answered exasperated. “And the other question really doesn’t deserve the answer.”
The doctor understood and asked what I hoped to be the final question. “He wants to know if there is any chance you could be pregnant.”
She didn’t even hesitate or blink an eye. “None.”
The doctor seemed satisfied and nodded.
I turned around to head for the door and have Nikolai deal with Anastasia’s phone when her voice stopped me. “Dimitry, could you ask the doctor about the cream please? It would relieve some pain. Just a few days worth.”
I translated the question and the doctor agreed. “He’ll give you enough to last you two weeks. And he’ll give you birth control pills or a shot, if you’d like.”
“Thank you,” she replied gratefully.
Fuck, I needed some space from this woman.
Chapter Eight
Anastasia
Ididn’t realize until after Dimitry left that he’d turned around and I never even scolded him. He still didn’t see me naked. This was like wearing a bathing suit. My panties and bra weren’t exactly sexy. They were plain white and cotton, but comfortable. I glanced down my body again and couldn’t imagine how he saw me. Bruises dotting my body an ugly purplish and blue.
But I was grateful for those bruises. I meant what I said, I’d rather take a thousand more bruises than have the alternative.
