“I guess not,” I giggled, happy and relaxed. It could have been the wine although I only had a half of a glass. I had a feeling it was being with him.

“I should check my cell just in case though.” As I glanced around to see if I could spot it, I looked back to him. “You don’t happen to know where I put it?”

“You left it in the library,” he commented. “C’mon, let’s move the party to the library.”

“Great idea.” I laughed, grabbing my glass of wine. He did the same and grabbed another bottle of wine to take with us.

“I don’t know if we should drink another bottle, Kristoff,” I murmured, relaxed as he put his one arm around me while his other held his glass and wine as we were walking to the library. “I love your wine but I’m not much of a drinker. I am sure if I start a second glass, I will be on my way to tipsy. You on the other hand look completely unaffected.” And a giggle escaped my lips as we entered his library room, like on cue to prove the point.

He leaned over. “Don’t worry, Gemma, I won’t let you get drunk. I plan on fucking you all night, and I want you to remember each touch, each hard thrust I’ll give you, and I can’t do that if you are drunk, my love.”

I could feel my face flush. I felt warm all over, and I am not so sure it was from the alcohol. I giggled again. “Kristoff, you just say such sweet things.”

“You like it, and you know it,” he whispered as he nibbled on my ear. My body promptly responded, as a moan escaped my lips. His lips drifted down to my neck, sucking on it, my pulse speeding up.

He raised his head and asked, “Want to watch a movie?”

“What?” I blinked trying to process his words through the haze in my brain.

He laughed and bent his head to kiss me on the cheek. “Do you want to watch a movie before we go to bed?” His voice suggested that going to bed would not be to go to sleep.

“Sure,” I mumbled. I stepped away from him and put my glass down, then went in search of my phone.

“There is your phone,” Kristoff pointed out as he took it from a desk and handed it to me.

“Thanks, Kristoff.”

“I have a feeling you don’t keep close watch on your phone,” he observed amusingly.

I chuckled. “No, not always. If I had the kids with me now, I’d probably not check it for days. I try to keep my boss happy and check the phone when I’m not at work. He wouldn’t be happy if he couldn’t get a hold of me.”

“He sounds like a prick,” he quipped.

“He has his moments,” I smirked.

I glanced down to my phone and saw there were no messages or calls from the kids or Grandma. There was, however, a missed call and a message from Betty, and two from Rick. I glanced up to Kristoff wondering if he saw that his name was on the screen. If he did, he didn’t show it. I opened the text message from Betty first and frowned.

Gemma, I am so sorry. Can we please talk? You are family! Please let me explain.

I closed the message, deciding I was not in the mood to ruin my evening right now. I’d deal with it later.

“Everything ok, Gemma?” Kristoff asked.

“Yep,” I replied nonchalantly and smiled.

He just nodded and proceeded to go to the couch while picking up the remote.

“Come here,” he called me and tapped the spot next to him on the love seat.

I sat next to him. His arm came around me, pulling me closer to him. The TV came on, and he handed me the remote.

“Any favorite channels?” I asked him.

He shrugged his shoulder. “Not sure what channels there are.”

Obviously, he rarely watched TV. I started flipping through channels, and settled on WETA UK. A repeat of the old showAs Time Goes Bywas playing and I relaxed in Kristoff’s arms, leaning my head onto his chest while watching the show I’d seen a million times. But I liked it. Seemed such a simple life.

“NoGone with the Wind?” Kristoff mumbled into my hair.
