Stop thinking like that! You only think that because you haven’t had sex in a while!I scolded myself.
“C’mon, girls. Give him some space. It is not like you haven’t seen him in years,” I said as I pulled them away.
“We didn’t see him a long, long time,” Saoirse whined. “We missed you, Kristoff. Mommy missed you too.”
“I absolutely did not,” I said. Unbelievable, my own kid was against me. Kristoff raised his eyebrow and looked at me with a smile on his face.
“Yes you did, Mommy. Sienna said you are sad because you missed him.”
I turned to Sienna with a glare.
“I just made a guess, Mom. What else was I supposed to say?” Sienna answered nonchalantly and just for emphasis blew a bubble with the chewing gum in her mouth.
“I missed you all too,” Kristoff told them all with a smile on his lips. “And I missed your mommy.”
“Ok, girls,” I ushered them. “Go back and play please. It will be bedtime in an hour.” They glanced between us, shrugged their shoulders, and left us.
I turned to his companion and reached my hand out to hers to shake it. “Hello, I’m Genevieve,” I motioned to Rick to introduce him. “And this is Rick and the rest of the family.”
Rick mumbled something under his breath and I could have sworn it had something to do with the awkwardness of this situation.
The woman was gorgeous. Nothing like me. Her hair was fire red and fell in luxurious waves down to her shoulders. She was slightly taller than me with a pear shape body. Her baby blue eyes stood out on her face and as she gave me a wide smile I got a distinct feeling she wasn’t as young as I initially thought. Little smile wrinkles gave her away but nonetheless she was beautiful.
“Hello, I’m Sophia,” her voice was sweet as she looked us all over.
“Nice to meet you,” I told her and I hoped I did not sound jealous but I certainly felt like it. “Hope you are enjoying your visit to Croatia.”
“I am, thank you. The coastline of this country is beautiful.”
I smiled and nodded my head in agreement. She continued on. “I thought our best views were from Kristoff’s yacht, but it is even better from the coastline.”
I looked out at the sea to the black yacht I complained about all day. I should have known! The massive yacht belongs to Kristoff.
“That yacht is hideous,” I spat out. “It’s like aStar Warsship amidst an oasis.” I should have known when I first saw the yacht, there would be some trouble coming with it.
Sophia stifled a chuckle while I glared at Kristoff and asked in an agitated voice, “What are you doing here?”
“I’m on a holiday,” he answered. “My mother insisted this to be the most beautiful country she has ever visited. So I decided to come and see what got her so thrilled.”
His gaze slowly went down my body and came back up lingering a bit longer on my breasts before our eyes locked. “I can understand the fascination now,” he emphasised the words and then added in a cold voice. “You and I have some things to discuss.”
I swallowed hard, feeling a tingle between my thighs.
No, no, no!I thought. This damn traitorous body!
“We have nothing to discuss till September,” my voice came out raspy and a bit breathless. “You should continue to the south of the country, there is so much more to do there.”
I turned back to Sophia and addressed her. “It is the most attractive part of this country and everyone raves about it. You’ll love it!”
Maybe I could convince the woman to make him move on so I didn’t have to look at them. I couldn’t tell what Kristoff was thinking. I could never read this damn man, and now I felt like he was purposely trying to be hard to read.
“Actually, Gemma, we are going to stay here. Could we rent two rooms from you?” His voice was casual as if asking for directions.
“No!” My answer came out too fast, almost in a shout. Deila and Betty approached and I really didn’t like how crowded I felt. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “I mean, with everyone here, there aren’t any finished and renovated rooms left. Sorry, Kristoff.”
I smiled sweetly to him and to his girlfriend. I was a bit surprised to see Sophie glancing back and forth between us with interest in her eyes, a slightly amused smile on her lips.
“That’s ok, Gemma. We don’t need anything fancy. We’ll take the rooms you have free.” Kristoff’s voice was confident he would get his way.
