“Few hours ago,” he replied as he pulled me into the library. “I loved feeling your body, sleeping, curled up next to me. Did I keep you up?”
I laughed. “Honestly, I slept like a log. Except when we…” I cut myself short.
“I couldn’t resist you,” he chuckled. “Your body next to me, and your hands roaming over my body. I was lost when your hands reached for my cock.”
Ah, so I started it, answering my own earlier question. “I must have had some weird dream,” I mumbled.
“I’d say it was the right kind of dream,” he declared with a smile in his voice. He bent his head down and laid a kiss on my neck followed by a gentle bite on my earlobe.
“Hey,” I tried to object, but truthfully, I didn’t mind it at all. I leaned my head against his chest.
It will be hard to walk away and forget him when this flame between us burns out.
The thought crossed my mind so fast, I felt it like a punch to my gut. I quickly pushed it away. I wanted to enjoy him while it lasted, no matter how hard it would be when it came to an end.
“Do you happen to know where my phone is?” I asked.
“I found it on the floor this morning,” he answered. “I put it right over there.”
I went to the desk he pointed to and picked up my phone typing in the passcode. I saw a message from Grandma with my daughters’ plans for the day. I quickly dialed up, and my heart warmed as soon as I heard my girls’ voices. I talked to each one of them shortly since they were getting ready to leave with Grandma to go to a morning concert.
As I hung up, I smiled. I turned to Kristoff who was looking at the newspaper. He lifted his head. “All good?”
“Yep. They are getting ready to go to a morning concert.”
He smiled. “How about we have some breakfast?”
I eyed him unsure. “Aren’t you busy? I would love to have breakfast with you but I don’t want to hold you up.”
“I’m going to be busy with you till you leave. You are mine until you want me to leave you alone, or your kids get back home.”
“I like that plan,” I answered, smiling at him. “But they are not getting back for another week. That’s a long time, and I can be quite difficult at times.”
“It’s not long enough,” he uttered convincingly. “Now let’s go have breakfast,” he urged and pulled me towards another room where I assumed we’d have breakfast. The dining room was way too large, and could easily fit fifty people. There was a large ceiling to floor window covering the entire east wall. The doors led to a large terrace with tables and chairs.
As we entered the room, the aroma of food hit me right away, and my stomach made a big somersault as nausea hit me. Kristoff sat at the head of the long table, and I sat down to his right swallowing hard.
Darn it, now is not the time to feel sick!
James came in with breakfast for both of us. I tried to relax and measure my breathing in and out to tamp down the feeling of nausea.
“Good morning, Mr. Baldwin,” he greeted us. “Nice to see you again, Miss Rose.”
Not sure why but I blushed, embarrassed that he probably knows why I am still here this morning after coming home with Kristoff.
“Good morning,” I answered, unable to quite call him by his first name and tampering my stomach queasiness.
“Thank you, James,” Kristoff told him. “We’ll clean up ourselves.”
“Very well, sir.” And he left us.
“What’s the matter, Gemma?” Kristoff asked as soon as James shut the door behind him.
“Oh, nothing really,” I mumbled. “Just kind of weird having a witness, knowing I spent the night here. It’s stupid; I know. We are kind of too old to worry about someone knowing whether I spent the night or not.” As I was talking, I tried to breathe evenly.
“Don’t worry. All my staff has signed confidentiality agreements not to discuss anything they see in my personal life,” Kristoff concluded.
“Well, that makes me feel safe then,” I confessed sarcastically.
