“What the hell was that?” My voice was husky. His green gaze was hot on me, and I could see wrinkles on his expensive suit where my fingers had been digging into him.

Staggering backwards, I felt his eyes watching my every move. I was too embarrassed and looked away. How could I have let that happen? I turned around and sped out of the room, scared of what I might do if I felt his hands on me ever again.

As I exited his office in a hurry, his secretary’s eye on me told me I looked like a crazy woman.

“Are you alright, dear?” Her question was sincere and concerning. I saw broken glass next to her desk and said a silent prayer. If not for that shattering noise, who knows how far I would have gone?

“Yes; I am running late,” I mumbled, and not bothering to wait for the elevator, I rushed to the stairs to exit.

I felt like I was still in a state of shock as I was rushing down the stairs. Once I made it down the second flight, I ducked into the door of another department and took the elevator. I couldn’t wait to get out of this building.

How could I have lost control like that, I wondered again.

I never lose control. I have always been the level headed and reliable one. Before today, I would have sworn there wasn’t an ounce of impulsive passion left in me. And then this! Just thinking about Kristoff Baldwin’s hands on me made me all hot. What we just did couldn’t possibly be legal?

I guess I won’t be getting that job.
