I felt like banging my head against the dining table. But that would probably be frowned upon in this restaurant.
“What do you think, Gemma?” Kristoff asked. “Are we strangers?”
“No,” I mumbled grudgingly. “You’re my boss.”
Lena laughed happily. “That’s settled then. We shall see you this evening.”
I took a deep breath. “I guess so.”
Sienna walked up at that moment, and I focused on her. She had been crying, I could tell by her puffy eyes, and my heart ached for her.
“Sienna,” I started.
“Whatever, Mom. I know, I’m not going,” she said and that was it.
