“He was always the happy kid,” he said simply.
My old annoyance at his short and clipped answers flared up, but I tried to think of another question for him to help me understand him better when I heard my phone beep.
I picked up my phone and saw Maxim sent a selfie with Brandon. My heart warmed at it and I typed a message back with a smile. I glanced up and saw Alexander watching me.
“Maxim sent a selfie with Brandon,” I told him as I showed him the picture. “They are having a good time.”
He looked at my phone and his lips curved into a smile. I couldn’t help but stare at him in amazement. For someone that rarely smiled, he really had the most beautiful smile.
“We should take a selfie,” I blurted out, “and send it back to them.”
He raised an eyebrow, a little smile still on his lips.
“Have you ever taken a selfie?” I asked him.
“No, I haven’t.”
I shook my head in disbelief. “Ok, old man,” I teased him. “We’ll have to fix that. You game?”
“Sure,” he replied. “Bring it on.”
I laughed at that, as I scooted over to him so we could both fit into the picture. “Ok, there is only one rule.”
“What’s that?” he asked, his eyes watching me.
“If I don’t look good,” I told him seriously, “we have to delete the picture.”
“I doubt you won’t look good, but sure. Whatever makes you happy.”
I felt heat creep up my neck and to my cheeks from his compliment. It was amazing how only a few words from his lips made me feel flattered.
“Maybe I should rephrase it,” I added smiling. “If I don’t like the way I look in the picture, we have to delete it.”
I raised the phone and turned my head to him. “Ready?”
And I snapped it. I brought the phone to see how it turned out. He was curiously looking over my shoulder. Seeing us together in that picture made my heart skip a beat, which was not good. Oddly enough, we looked like a happy married couple. He was so strikingly handsome. I felt like I almost looked plain next to him.
“Hmmm.” I muttered. “I guess it is not too bad.”
“You don’t seem sure,” he commented, teasing me.
I snapped my head up. “Mr. Caldwell, did you just tease?”
“Send the picture, Liberty,” he whispered in my ear. “Because I want to get you naked.”
Heat licked my body at his words and familiar ache between my thighs. I pressed send quickly and threw the phone to the side.
I glanced around. “Here?” I murmured. “What if someone sees us?”
“There is nobody for a hundred acres all around,” he pushed me onto my back and I wrapped my hands around him. His beautiful face was so close to me and my brain stopped functioning.
“Alexander,” I whispered, as he brushed his thumb in slow, light circles on the pulse on my neck.
“Your heart is racing.” His voice was smooth velvet. I wondered if his heartbeat matched mine or maybe this wasn’t affecting him at all.
His eyes never wavered from mine; his fingers gently traced my skin, crawling under my skirt till his big, strong hand slipped into my panties. A gasp of pleasure escaped my lips when he applied pressure against my clit. My eyes fluttered shut as I enjoyed his touch.
He crashed his mouth into mine, the kiss fervent and urgent, causing all my reasons to flee.
