He planted a soft kiss on my nose and slowly traced kisses down my cheeks to my jaw.

“Please,” he added softly.

How was it possible that one night could change so much in a person’s life? How was it possible that I never saw a glimpse of this passionate side of Alexander? He was always so put together and reserved. I would have never guessed there was such fire in him.

“I chuckled because I was thinking about licking the tattoos on your back,” I told him and was sure I was blushing as the words left my lips.

His eyes lifted up to me with an expression I couldn’t quite place. I wondered what he was thinking since this man was so damn hard to read.

“I would have never guessed you had tattoos all over you,” I added in a quiet voice. I cleared my throat. “You seem so clean cut. It’s totally hot.”

He continued watching me and I started to feel uncomfortable. “I’d get a tattoo, but I’m scared of needles. I hate needles… needles and snakes.”

He pressed a kiss on my mouth, and I wondered if it was to make me stop talking.

He stopped too soon. “I will count on you using your tongue to trace each of the tattoos on my back tonight.”

A smile spread on my face. “You got it.”

“Now, let’s get in the shower,” he murmured, holding my gaze.

“We?” I asked.

“Yes, we.”

He grabbed my leg and pulled me over to the edge of the bed. I burst into laughter as he threw me over his shoulder and headed off into the bathroom. I was too nervous to look yesterday, but glancing around it now, I was awed.

“Holy shit,” I murmured looking around the elegant bathroom. “Is that a gold tub in the center of the room?”

“Yes,” he replied as he led me into the shower.

“Are we just showering?” I asked boldly.

“Of course not,” he hissed, as he pressed my back against the tile and took my nipple gently between his teeth. A moan escaped my lips. My body never responded like this to anyone else. He lifted his head, took me by the nape of my neck as he slipped his tongue into my mouth, and the shower was completely forgotten as I melted into his arms.

How was it possible my body couldn’t get enough of him?

Chapter Thirty-Three

Alexander

This decision to go on a honeymoon with Liberty was the best one I’d made in my entire life. I never wanted it to end. I loved learning everything about her. Her heart, body and soul were beautiful; her warmth erased all my bitterness caused by the history of our parents.

Her smiles as she watched me, her slightly breathless way when she got excited, her eyes shining with desire… my wife was quickly becoming my addiction. The way she responded to me was explosive. I could never get enough of her.

Her soft skin was made for my mouth, her lips tasted like fresh strawberries in spring, and her eyes flashed forest green when she climaxed. I swore I’d be the only one to see that for the rest of our life.

I wondered what went on in her head, what her hopes and dreams were. Because I wanted to lay it all down onto her feet. We fit together like a glove, volcano and lava, smoke and fire.

Considering the history of Caldwell’s men, this was a dangerous road. For my father, Lily Smith, Liberty’s mother, was his whole world. His obsession drove him down the path of self-destruction when he couldn’t have her. He was willing to leave his wife, his children, his good name and fortune behind in burning flames, just to keep her with him. His actions lead to Caldwell’s good name going down in a fiery blaze.

I could only hope we’d survive the erupting volcano.

Chapter Thirty-Four

Liberty

Two hours later, we were seated at the top of a hill with a beautiful sight stretching in front of us. Behind us was Alexander’s chateau and in front of us was the Mediterranean Sea, its waves crashing against the rocky shoreline.
