“Sorry,” I told him but I didn’t sound sorry at all. Then I asked with a smile. “Should I try again?”

“No, I love that you don’t impress easily,” his voice was low.

I chuckled softly at that. “I’m not so sure about that because you left an impression on me fast and easy.”

His eyes searched out mine, as if he needed to see the truth in them.

“I’m happy to hear that.” His voice was like a caress. His gaze traveled to the necklace with the rings that still hung around my neck.

“How long do we have to stay at the ball?” I asked in a breathless tone.

“Twenty minutes,” he leaned closer and whispered, his hot breath against my ear. “I won’t make it longer than twenty minutes. I need to bury myself inside of you.”

I swallowed hard, my body tingling and hot in response to his words. If he keeps talking like that, I won’t last those twenty minutes.
