“Do we know how it works? The belle offering?” Luciano questioned. “When? Where?” Luciano looked like he’d be sick, and I couldn’t blame him. The whole concept was sickening. “Raphael mentioned he overheard Alphonso speak to Benito about the delivery of a woman.”

Massimo, Luciano’s cousin and right hand man, barged through the door at that moment, an alarmed look on his face.

“What is it?” Luciano asked him.

“I broke it.”

“Broke what?” Luciano questioned.

“I broke your wife’s firewalls.”

Two hours later, as I headed out the Vitale residence, Cassio was right behind me. Luca already disappeared into the night. Probably chasing a skirt. Women tended to open their doors and legs wide for that guy.Maybe his suave moves, I scoffed to myself.

I was headed for the airport and Cassio for his place in Hampton. I stopped before entering the car. Cassio’s Aston Martin was parked right next to my Bugatti.

“Cassio,” I started and he paused to look back at me. “Did you ever consider that your father might have other illegitimate children?”

He raised his eyebrow. “We’d know about them. You know he likes to make full use of his children.”

“What if it was a daughter?”

He froze for a second but then choked out a laugh. “He doesn’t have a daughter. He’d brag about it and use her to make himself stronger. He’s wanted a daughter for as long as I can remember. There must be God after all not to have granted him that wish.”

God did grant Benito his wish, but he just didn’t know it. I’ve heard many times from my own father how much Benito desired a daughter. It was the only thing that my father succeeded over my rival. My father managed to produce a daughter.

“Why do you ask, Nico?”

I shrugged. “Just wondering. I’ll talk to you soon.”

With a nod, I got into the car. This secret might just cost me my friends. Cassio and Luca were nothing like their father and would burn down the world to protect an innocent family member. Blood or not.

* * *

“We have ten minutes until landing,”my stewardess informed me. I nodded my thanks. It had been a long day. After the latest discovery of Grace Vitale’s side business, which ironically coincided with her husband’s, I headed out of New Jersey, taking my private jet back to Baltimore.

Luciano would have his hands full with his wife. I, on the other hand, wanted to focus on Bianca Carter and couldn’t wait to have my hands full of her.

Lately, all my thoughts were consumed with that beautiful woman. I was intrigued and that didn’t happen to me often anymore. For over twenty years, women were a pastime. They didn’t belong in my darkness. But this woman, she was a glimmer of light in my dark world. My plan would surely squash it, but it was necessary. I had to go through with it.

As my private plane started descending, I justified to myself what I was about to do. The end always justified the means. And this would ensure I got what I wanted. Revenge and the woman that meant more to Benito King than his sons or anyone else for that matter. Bianca needed saving, and my protection would offer that to her.

In return, she’d grant me my revenge and give me her body. It was a fair trade.

All the years of ruthless ruling of the underworld had taught me that power was the only thing that mattered. After watching my father for the first twenty years of my life, I studied and learned what worked and what didn’t. I worked hard to get where I was today; I had to bring down my father in the process or risk losing the entire territory due to his actions.

Unlike the old Morrelli, I worked with the CIA, NSA, FBI, ICE, DEA, Cartels, Bratva, all affiliations of the mafia. It gave me information on everything and everyone. Information was power and not knowing was weakness. Something I couldn't afford to have if I was to keep people I care about protected. Dealing with so many afflictions was what prompted me to start an information technology company and it took off overnight, quadrupling the value of my businesses. And, it was how I found out about Bianca’s connection to Benito King. Like I said, information was power.

I ruled with fear but gained respect through actions. My father only instilled fear and terror, and took advantage of the vulnerable. My next move would put Benito King in his place, once and for all. The only claim and connection he had on my territory would be eliminated - both in Maryland and in Italy. And currently that was Bianca and her mother’s family.

Bianca Carter had too many weaknesses and didn’t even realize it. Open for the taking. Not for much longer though. Her husband was a pawn in my revenge. I didn’t anticipate his sickness, but I’d be a liar if I said it didn’t work out for the best. From the moment I learned Bianca’s connection to Benito King, she was the only thing on my radar. She had grieved her husband and had ample time to mourn.

It was time to claim that woman for my own and execute Benito’s downfall.

NICO

Iwas in the midst of a multi-billion dollar negotiation and all I could think about was Bianca Carter. Those warm brown eyes sent sparks through my body and straight to my cock. I could still feel her small tempting body bumping into me. Her messy dark hair damp from the rain had smelled like spring flowers and lilacs. I wondered if she realized how beautiful she was. Imagining her petite body as my cock slid in and out of her was the only thing on my mind lately.
