Ivy looked at me with tears in her eyes, “I don’t even know where she used to hang out.”

“It might take some time, but Bones will find her trail. We’ll figure this out,” I said, grabbing her hand in mine and rubbing my thumb over her knuckles.

“Thank you! Oh, wait, someone told me there’s a dealer named Virgil Williams, but I’ve not been able to find him.” She sat up straighter.

“Yeah, everyone in the Quarter knows Virgil. He’s kind of loud. I’m not sure when I saw him last.”

“I have some money.”

“What?”

“I can pay your club for the help,” she said, her eyes transfixed on mine.

“No charge.” I said, turning off the recording.

“No, I have money from my book sales. I insist on giving Bones or whoever a fee,” she said and got up from the bed and started pacing.

“Book sales?” I was confused.

She whirled on me. “I wrote a true crime book, and it's done well. My first name is actually Bridget, but I didn't want to use that here. Besides, it was kind of bittersweet because when Shannon was little, she couldn't say Bridget and used to call me Ivy.; my middle name.”

I got to my feet and stood over her, so she had to look up at me. “You spying on my club?” I growled.

She looked nervous, and I pushed her back against the wall. "Not really. At first, I came to Ragnarök because I thought you might deal drugs. I know that's not true now."

“What do you plan to do with the actual drug dealer?” I asked, watching her eyes unfocused as I caged her in with my hands.

She swallowed and replied, “kill him.”

I kissed her with raw power and need. Her body melted into me as she wrapped her arms around my neck, so I grabbed her up by her bottom and she put her legs around me.

"Do you trust me?" I asked, breaking away and looking into her eyes.

“Not even a little,” she whispered and licked my lips. I crushed my mouth to hers again and didn’t let go until we were both satisfied.

Chapter 17

Bridget Ivy

The cat was out of the bag with Loki. But it was hard to care that it had blown my cover, given I had a better chance of figuring this out with the Valhalla Heathens. I was working at Ragnarök tonight and I’d been considering quitting the job, but it helped to keep my mind off constantly worrying about when I’d have definitive news.

The last customer had left the bar, and after I cleared the table, I was going to go find Bones. I knew he was here tonight because Loki had mentioned it when we were together yesterday. Not being in the middle of things would drive me nuts, and I needed him to know that. Loki distracted me yesterday and didn’t want to talk about it after he fucked me against the wall. Not that I was complaining. My body felt blissfully at ease and more relaxed than I’d felt in a while. I’d had a decent sex life in the past, but no one had ever gotten my body to sing like Loki had. Not that I ever planned to admit that to him. He was cocky enough already and really what was the harm in indulging in a little release. Loki was just the casual outlet I needed to help me through this time.

My thoughts were interrupted when three men in impressive looking suits entered the bar.

I walked over to them and said, “you can sit anywhere. Let me know when you're ready to order.”

“Aren’t you lovely?” the man in the middle with close cropped white blond hair said to me in his accented voice. He was really attractive with an angular jawline and dark brown eyes that seemed to read my soul. I shivered a little. The guys behind him looked like they could be prior military. They had a defensive and authoritative air about them.

“Thanks,” I said, offering a small smile just to be polite.

There was something imposing about this man and I realized the guys with him were standing behind him just a little. Were they bodyguards?

“Does Loki have any GlenDronach back there?”

“Our bartender will be back in a few minutes and I can check with him. What about your companions?”

“You can get them whatever’s on draft.” He said as he unbuttoned his suit jacket and took a seat. The two guys with him took seats at a table behind him.
