He nods a head, smiling back at us and taking a peek down the front of Summer’s V-neck dress before he steps backwards to get our drinks started.

“He’s cute!” Summer yells into my ear from the pounding music. “I’m gonna ask for his number!”

I laugh, throwing my head back, “Yeah, your parents would love the face tat.”

An hour, and three tequila sunrises later, my head is swimming. I’m screaming, laughing and dancing under the multicolored flashing lights with my best friend, who’s grinding her ass on my front. The songs change and we switch up our dance moves, blowing off dudes that try to get in between our girl-sandwich and cackling like the witches from Hocus Pocus after they capture a child for dinner.

We still haven’t run into anyone Summer knows, so she can’t figure out who even invited her here tonight. Thank god we don’t need anyone else to have a good time.

My feet are screaming, but I ignore them and keep moving my body to the music, letting myself get lost in the best night I’ve had in a really long time. Confidence and swagger drips from me in the form of sweat and I amfeelin’myself like fucking Beyonce and Nicki.

Summer is yelling, something about another drink, in my ear as loud as fucking possible and I can’t help the laughter inside my chest, the bliss and happiness.

I’m druuuuuunk.

I nod at her, and grip at her waist to trail her back to the hottie bartender I’m considering inviting to the bathroom later.

Chapter Six

Travis

I’m watchingOlivia’s ass swing to the music – like a fucking stalker – in the middle of Savage. Sarah is perched on my lap, wriggling like she’s going to get any response from my junk by crushing her full weight against it.

She refuses to stop, and I refuse to acknowledge the pathetic attempt at getting into my pants in the middle of a club.

I just really don’t like her, I’m sure if it was someone else this might be working. Plus, I’m too busy watching Olivia. It can’t be coincidental that she’s here, right?

She’s under my skin, I don’t know how – or why – I’ve spoken to the girlonce. And I could barely get my words out without making an ass of myself. She feels familiar, like I know her… but I don’t. I would fucking remember her.

I’m riding the feeling of wanting someone for the first time in three years, because it can’t be accidental.

Nothing in life is accidental.

Olivia’s dark hair is trailing down the exposed skin of her back, a tiny sliver of skin is showing from the V in her dress all the way to her belly button. It’s truly a miracle I’m not hard as a rock from that alone.

That woulddefinitelygive Sarah the wrong impression.

Jax and Rebecca are on the dance floor, pressed together so close that it wouldn’t surprise me if he was inside of her.

I blow out a breath, rubbing my hand along the stubble that’s popped up on my jaw, and Sarah wriggles once more.

That’s it. Enough. I’m done.

I pat her thigh, asking her to stand, and she responds by standing on her too-high heels and grinning at me like she just won the fight.

Wrong, sweetie.

“I’m gonna get a drink.” I mutter into her ear, and she eyes me through her eyelashes to say,are you fucking serious?

I shrug my shoulder a little and head towards where Olivia and Summer are going – to the bar, leaving Sarah to perch her thirsty ass on my abandoned chair.

I put myself on the opposite side of the black metal bar, staying in the shadows of other partiers so they don’t see me, and watch my goddess order her fourth drink of the evening. She’s probably loaded. Which is why I can’t make my move tonight.

I don’t want a drunken mistake out of her. I wantmuchmore.

I’m just not surewhy.
