“Oh, I can take them.”
“I have no doubt about that, babe.” I reach over, grabbing her hand.
“You like holding my hand, don’t you? The other night, in bed, you reached for it after you’d gone to sleep.”
“Did I? I can’t say that’s ever been brought to my attention before.”
She giggles loudly. “What a careful way of saying any of the other women you’ve slept with haven’t mentioned it before.”
“Guilty.” I roll my eyes. “They haven’t, though.”
“Maybe you don’t do it with anyone else besides me.”
“Maybe I don’t.” I grin over at her.
“Yeah, that’s what I’ll believe.” She grins back.
We pull into the parking lot and I’m pleased to see a spot next to my dad’s truck. Turning the Jeep off, I get out and walk around to the passenger side. Opening the door, I box her in with my arms. “You ready for this?”
“If you are, I am.” Her light eyes look down at me, her blonde hair blowing in the wind.
“Let’s go.” I hold my hand out to her. “Together?”
“Wherever you go, I’ll be right there beside you.”
Hooking my arm around her neck, I drop a kiss on her forehead. “Same to ya, babe, same to ya.”
