"Any lovers?"

He snorts, "hell, no. Why are you asking this?" he suddenly says, suspicious.

"None of your business, Mark," I say very nicely. "My Lyri didn't seem to hate anyone in particular at school?"

He glares at me, "she's a nice female," he emphasizes. I would smack him down if he weren't defending my love. "If anything, it was the other females who she had issues with. Especially Cloe. I guess that's why it was so believable that she would try to take Daan. She hated that female."

"Cloe?" I ask, frowning. If Lyri had issues with Cloe, then it would explain why she went after Daan. But, what would make Lyri hate another female that much? It doesn't jive with the rejection and using Daan to make her mate jealous, theory.

"Why did she hate her?" I ask Mark.

He shrugs, "who knows? Lyri's just competitive, I guess." He says it like it's inevitable that Lyri and Cloe be enemies, but it doesn't make sense, especially now that I know Lyri.

"Mark!" Tim calls from the door.

"Gotta go," Mark mumbles, brushing past me with a bowed head.

I say goodbye absently and tuck my hands in my pockets. Where can I find more teenagers?

I find myself at the Song's house. Penny's not a teenager, but she would know something about her sister, right?
