"I'll be fucking Lyri, and they can suck my cock, mutt," Thjis shoots back.

My wince at the mention of the two lovers turns into hysterical humor. A very inappropriate giggle escapes.

Thjis flashes a smile my way but Drew huffs as if my very presence offends him. Thjis growls warningly at the wolf. "What are you doing here in Genom, mutt?"

Drew grits his teeth. "I was sent to invite you all to the pack barbeque this weekend," he grunts. "Luna Jessi wants the pack there."

"And we care, why?" Thjis crosses his arms over his chest.

"Because she's worried that pack is concerned for the rankwhore. She wants to reassure everyone the nullavenia is alive."

Thjis' takes a menacing step toward Drew. I feel a spike of fear for my Bear, but I get ready to shift. I won't let Thjis fight a beta-born male by himself.

"You've delivered your message. Get off my land," Thjis' voice falls to a low rumble, his wolf aggressively eyeing the younger male.

"Enjoy your afternoon," Drew smirks at me. He saunters off, swaggering in the knowledge that Thjis and I won't dare to attack him, even if he's intruding on our land.

Thjis spins to face me. The stern look in his eyes softens. "Oh, baby. Don't cry." Giant palms smooth over my wet cheeks. I keep crying, though.

Drew has ruined more than my time with Thjis, but this is important to me, here and now. Thjis told me that he loves me. It doesn't count, saying it as he's reaching his peak, but it's so much better than him. This was about love and caring and sweetness, not just a quick screw in the woods.

My Bear and Sunshine, they didn't fuck me. They made love to me, and I can tell the difference. Now I know.

Thjis gathers me up in his arms. "Let's go home, yeah? Rhet needs to know that the mutt was here."

I just nod and let Thjis take care of me. My mind is tumbling. It's no secret that Luna Jessi never liked me. Like Drew said, I'm nulla venia. Why would she send Drew to invite us to a pack barbeque personally?
