Ilian snarls, raging to get past Inuit to Penny. Inuit fights him off with everything he can, the two young alphasons straining to fight. Inuit struggling to shift.

He's too young; I tell the Moon silently.

"Enough, now," Alpha Argus strides forward, grabbing his son by the back of the neck and giving him a shake. "Ilian, not yet, pup."

I reach out and touch Inuit's shoulder. "In, back up, please."

Alpha Argus' eyes are twinkling, amused at the sight of a Luna in charge of a young Alphason, I'm sure.

I glance at a calmer Ilian and swallow. The truth hits me, and for a moment, I want to go dig up Liam's remains and spit on them.

"Alpha Argus, would you like to meet my sister, Penny?"

He smiles a big, broad smile and straightens up. Ilian is still struggling in his father's grasp, small whimpers coming from his wolf. His eyes are intent on Penny with a singular focus. He's calling to her, but her wolf won't emerge for a couple of years, still.

"She's not hearing ya, son. She's not shifted yet. Ya must be patient," he soothes the raging young wolf inside his son's body.

"My she-wolf. Let me go," he stubbornly demands.

"She's just a pup," Inuit shoots back. Ironic, considering the whopping seven months that he has on Penny.

Ilian's eyes narrow on Inuit. He flashes fang, growling threateningly.

Argus heaves a sigh and, without warning, picks up his son and slams his face down in the dirt. Kneeling over him with his massive paw still resting on the back of his neck, he smiles at Penny.

"It's very nice to meet you, female."

"Penny," she supplies, but doesn't return the greeting. Her eyes flicker to me, to Ilian, to Alpha Argus. She's too young to feel the mate bond, but she's no dummy. Cautiously, she walks towards Ilian and Alpha Argus. Bending over, she delicately touches his cheek and gasps.

"Can you feel it, Penny?" Alpha Argus asks.

"I hear my wolf," she says in a stunned voice. Her fingertips are still brushing against Ilian's smooth cheek. He is lying still, eyes closed, smiling.

When she retreats behind Inuit and me, Ilian immediately begins to strain against his father's hold.

"Well, I'll be getting this one home," his father sighs. "Luna, Alphason, Luna," he nods to me, Inuit, and Penny in turn.

I see my sister freeze in shock at realizing that her mate is an alphason, and she will be the Luna.

Inuit starts to laugh. "Your face!" he chortles, pointing.

"Shut up, In."
