"What?" he asks, astonished.
"You two can leave, too." I point a finger shaking with fury at the white-faced pledges. "Get the fuck out of this House."
The two pledges flee in a hurry, but Mason stays. "You can't kick me out! I'm sworn in just the same as you, asshole! You can't kick me out of Alpha-Ups!"
"No?" I take a step toward him. "I can't." He backs away a little. "But I can make your life a fucking miserable one, pendejo. Leave the House. Hell, leave the campus. Transfer. Don't ever let me see your ugly face again."
"You can't-"
I strongarm him backward a step. He stumbles but doesn't fall. "Don't forget who I am,sí? You have one hour, pendejo. Hurry the fuck up."
He leaves, and I turn on my heels to go back outside. Pacing the yard, I grab my bike. I need to run.

Mattie
"Teague? Something's wrong with Cassie," I blurt it out before he can even say 'hello.'
"Yeah?" he sounds a little strangled. "Why do you think that, Mattie?"
"She just seems... sad. Not herself."
"Fuck!" he snaps. "College was a fucking shit idea. Come home. Both of you. Fuck that."
"No!" I panic. I'm not weak! "I like college," I lie in a trembling voice.
"Mattie," Teague's voice has softened.
"I really want to be a doctor, T."
His inhale is rough, like his lungs are being grated alive. There's a long pause before he finally responds. "OK. I want you both together every weekend, understand? You go there, Cass comes to you, or you both come home. Your security detail will go with you-"
"Security detail?" I blurt out.
"I'm upping your protection. Security," he barks.
"No! Bodyguards? No way, T! What are we, royalty? C'mon!" I whine.
"It's for Cassie, too," he responds smoothly.
I pause, "well, she needs it, but I don't!"
"It's cheaper if it's a two-for-one," he tells me with not a hint of the lie in his voice. I envy that ability.
"I'm not a complete idiot."
"Spend time with Cassie, Matt. Make sure the males aren't around her. I... there was one earlier today," his voice lowers, becomes gravely and harsh. Never a good sign.
"A male?" Oh crap.
"A male," he hisses between his teeth. I think I hear the phone crack a little.
"Naw?" I reply weakly. "I'm sure he's just a friend?" Inside, I curse my weaker omega senses. I wouldn't be able to scent a male on my sister unless he was still draped all over her.
Although it would explain those conflicted feelings, I was feeling from her...
"It's OK. Mina says we have to let her be a grown wolf, now," Teague rasps out. "But, just in case, the security detail is arriving tomo-" "
