"You are an alpha. It's natural to make a den for your mates," the Beta replies calmly.
"No," I shake my head. "It's jealousy, possessiveness. Evil. I have evil in my blood,Jefe. Look at my sisters," I whisper hoarsely. "Look at them. Their skin. Their eyes." I stare back into the dining room at the little female pups as Cassidy and Mattie coo and pet them. The pups bask in the attention, but I feel the deep well of sorrow from my omega mates.
"You are not your father," the Beta's words hold weight. I wonder how he feels he measures up to his own father. Both of us are Alphasons, aren't we?
"I want to lock them away," I say faintly as I stare, mesmerized by the beauty of my mates. "I'm just as selfish as he is."
"I won't let you lock them away," Devel claims.
I turn my burning gaze on him. "Sí, el Diablo. You stop me if you have to. Don't ever let me turn into him."
He nods, and I feel the weight lifting from my chest. Someone will hold me accountable. Someone will stop me from hurting my omegas. I won't turn intomi padre.

I pace in front of mi papa, still reeling from the thought that my female is afraid of my wolf. Why? My alpha-wolf is whimpering, his ears flat on his head, tail tucked, looking more pathetic than I've ever seen him.
I stare hard atmi padre, my mama's betrayer, choosing to focus on him instead of my mates.
"¿Por qué?" I ground out. It's all I can say.
The betrayer looks at his hands, still covered in scrapes and blood from his battle with the Beta. "From the beginning,mi hijo?"
"No," I lash out quickly. He stiffens, startled and offended at my tone, but I don't give a fuck how he feels. "Where is my missing brother?"
Papa laughs. It's a cold, pain-filled chuckle that makes the fine hairs on the back of my neck stand up. "Which one?" he rasps out.
I stand in front of him, breathing heavily. Nine. Juana said she is nine and Rosalia is five. Are there others? Nico is seventeen, so how many pups could mama have had between Nico and Juana? Eight years... how many? "How many?" I snarl.
"From the beginning,mi hijo,"Papárasps out.
I'm about to lose the last thread of my temper when the male the Beta brought, the Gamma from ClearHowl, holds up a hand and shakes his head subtly at me.
"Go ahead," the Beta says tonelessly.
Papáflashes a vicious smile at the male who beat him from the alpha spot and locked him in this black metal cage specifically built to contain alphas.
"I knew Lily was my mate, but here, in LoboGris? An omega can't be luna. An omega is a slave," he sneers the word, the bitterness of that tradition in LoboGris a heavy taste in the air.
"You had to reject her," the Gamma says softly.
"Sí,I ignored her. Rejected her,"Papásnarls. Fury and torment flash in his eyes as he stares straight ahead at nothing but the past he created. "I chose another. A MateLess daughter of a Beta. A strong she-wolf. Marguerite. I made a deal." He shakes his head. "I thought I was so smart, choosing your ma- choosing her."
"Lily es mi mamá," I shoot out, furious that he was about to call another female my mama. Perpetuating the lie that has hung around my neck my entire life like a noose.
"Sí,"Papásays quietly.
"Did you do anything to Sever your bond with Lily?" the Gamma asks.
"No,"Papácroaks out. "No one could know, could suspect, that Marguerite wasn't my truemate. Lily... the pack would kill her. I hated her for being an omega, but even then, I knew she didn't deserve to die."
"Very magnanimous," the Beta drawls. The Gamma, back turned tomi padre, shoots him a look.
"I brought Marguerite here and told the pack we would Mate in three months."
