His blush deepens, and he looks away from me. "She's got a good pelvic floor. She once held her urine for hours on a car ride-ah, good hips!" He blurts out," I mean, good hips... Wide, I mean. It's um... good for pup-bearing." He's fire-engine red, now.

I'm appeased and amused. "Mattie, look at me." Bright caramel eyes swing up to me. "You and Cassidy will stay inside the house. Any little... excursions... you take Gio, Holt, and Alize with you,sí? Stay on campus. Wait for me to come back, and we'll go home."

"Yeah, Sweethe-Carm," he corrects himself, blushing.

Chuckling, I draw him closer, tracing his chin with my thumb. "You can call metu corazon, your sweetheart, mi Amor."

"OK... sweetheart," he whispers.

I kiss his adorably red cheeks. My alpha-wolf rubs his body along Mattie's wolf for the umpteenth time, wanting to place his scent all over his mates. He nearly lifted his leg on Cassidy. When I shift with her for the first time, I need to be careful, keep some control. He's obsessed with protecting her even more than he is with Mattie.

"The luna should rest in bed, now," Alize announces. She holds Nico's glare. He is the first to drop his gaze.

"Inside," I order. I take one last look at my mates before I walk over to Holt. I grab the keys to his bike from midair when he tosses them to me.

"I'll be a day, two tops."

Holt nods, his eyes shadowed as he looks toward the Moo House. His estranged mate, Deanna, may still be on campus. If she is, Holt would know. "I'll have Adriana help me collect your stuff from the Alpha House."

I hide my frown. I still don't particularly enjoy the idea of Adriana touching my personal shit, but I don't want Cassidy and Mattie to go to the Alpha House, either.

"Mason is still at State. He's supposed to pack and leave tomorrow."

I smile. "Bueno."

---

It's dark when I reach State. There are still missing posters of Dylan hanging all over campus. It makes my wolf strut to see them. One lesspendejoin the world.

The Alpha-Ups House at State is in an uproar. Odd, considering that half the brothers should have left campus by now. Finals are over. The semester is done. I do my best to paste on a concerned look, then abandon the idea as hopeless.

Mason is right in the middle of a panic attack when I walk in through the front door. I lean against the wall, lighting up a cigarette, watching the drama unfold.

He's on his phone, practically blubbering to whoever is on the other line.

"Mom!" he cries, his voice warbling. "You shouldn't be driving! I know the banks aren't open. Did you call Dad's lawyers?" He takes a shaky breath while other frat brothers gather around him. Their looks of concern are more genuine than mine.

"I don't know, Mom," he says a little breathlessly. "I was coming home tomorrow. Yeah. Yeah! I'll come home tonight. Where... do you think he'll be out tonight?" Another pause. "I don't know how the fucking FBI works, Mom! Sorry, sorry," he apologizes.

He hangs up the phone and looks at the ground, ashen.

"We'll, like, pack for you, bro," one of his friends pats him on the back and takes off.

"Mason, why so sorry-looking,güey?"I ask him mockingly.

His face is stark-white, eyes wide when he looks at me. "My dad just got arrested! His lawyer called me and told me to expect charges, too, for selling drugs on campus!" he's practically panting from his panic.

"Naw," I pretend surprise.

"T-They found drugs in my car. Papers in my Dad's car about selling... connections. It's serious drugs, dude!"

Sí, a brick of cocaine, is serious. It was good stuff, too. Pre-cut, clearly shit you sell for a few thousand, at least. I whistle. "What are you going to do?"

"I... Carmichael, you have to help me! I was set up. I swear I was!" Mason looks at me. "Don't you have cartel connections? You're some sort of drug lord's son, right? Can't you help me?"

My alpha-wolf snarls. My lip curls a little at the sight of Mason breaking down. "We do have connections,sí," I confirm. Dead bodies for the scavengers, but Mason doesn't need to know that.

"Oh, thank you. The cops are coming soon. What do I do?" he asks me eagerly.
