“Tomorrow night.”
They all share a look, the shifters grinning like devils.
Why do I have a feeling I’m not ready for whatever happens during this ritual?

ADLER
I try notto stare at her while we finish eating, but I can’t seem to help myself. After two years of denying my attraction to her, my control is slipping. Nearly losing my mind when she disappeared a few weeks ago was all it took to make me forget about being noble and protecting her. I didn’t want to corrupt her, to be the reason she was exposed to the super natural side of the world. She’s neck deep in this life now though. There’s no better way to protect her now than to stay close.
Make her mine.
Being a changeling is a shameful, lonely existence. She knows I was shunned. Knows I’m cursed, and she doesn’t give adamn. Those vibrant jade irises lift to meet mine, and the unbridled desire I see there steals my breath.
Screw nobility.
I’m tired of holding myself back. Nothing is standing in my way now. Not even the four men sitting with us can deter me. I’m taking Raven in whatever way I can.

CARTER
Being placed on guard shift second, I roll out of my cot around three in the morning on Monday. Raven groans when I shake her awake but stretches and rubs her eyes because she’s on duty too. I try not to stare at the way her boobs jut into the air when she arches her back, but I’m a man. By the time she sits up, I’ve moved my gaze to her face. She still looks tired. Like a trooper, she stands and reaches for my hand.
“I’d ask you to carry me, but I’m firmly against being carried like a damsel. I’m considering it though; that’s how sleepy I am.”
Squeezing her fingers, I pull her along to where Draco and another shifter wait. She grumbles something about the lack of coffee and a smile pulls at my lips.
“Any trouble?” I ask Draco.
He shakes his head, sweeping his eyes over Raven. “Maybe she should go back to sleep. I can cover her shift.”
This gets her attention. She pulls her hand from mine and straightens her back. “No way. I don’t need you to cover for me.”
Tipping his head to the side, Draco hums. “All right, Little Red. I won’t fight you over it, but there’s no sleeping while you’re on guard.”
She scowls, and he smirks, having gotten the reaction he hoped for.
“Go to bed, Draco. We have a job to do.”
The other shifter has already left, so Draco sighs and rubs the back of his neck. “Be careful.”
“I’ll make sure she’s safe.” He lifts his gaze to meet mine, nodding and heading off to his cot.
Raven runs her fingers through her long, red hair and surveys the room. Everyone is sleeping peacefully. I lean against the oversized librarian’s desk, placing my arm on the wooden top. She makes her way over to me, taking the spot a few inches away from me. Her cherry scent wraps around me and makes me want to bury my head between her legs while we’re up, or maybe that’s knowing the ritual is happening tonight.
Turning her head toward me and inhaling, she steps closer, leaning into my side. “Why can I tell you’re turned on?”
My hand finds her lower back, and I hold her securely against me. “The ritual solidifies the bond, but it’s already started to form since you accepted Adler as our fifth.”
“Oh,” she says softly, eyes dropping to my lips. “What happens at the ritual?”
Casting my gaze around the room, checking for anything amiss like I’m supposed to, I debate on whether I should show or tell her what will happen. Telling is a lot less fun, but it’s probably the most responsible decision. She’d never forgive me or herself if something happened to the shifters while I demonstrated a fraction of what she’ll feel later tonight.
She turns, pressing her chest against mine and craning her neck. Those luscious tits press into me, so pillowy soft and full. My cock was halfway hard before she moved, and now it’s fully erect, straining for her through my jeans. If she feels it, she doesn’t react. She simply stares into my eyes and waits for my answer.
“We bind the pack with blood, then the bond is consecrated, as a unit.”
