“When did you start feeling sick?”

“On the way to lunch,” I mumble. “It’s probably food poisoning or something.”

“What happened before lunch?” Draco asks, running his hands up and down my legs.

I sigh in appreciation when my stomach begins to settle. It’s still sensitive, but I think I’m done throwing up for now.

“I had class.”

“After that, what did you do?” Carter asks.

Staring into his hazel eyes, I shrug. “Nothing. I came to put my notes away and wait for lunch.” Then I remember a small detail. “My wolf wouldn’t talk to me.”

He exchanges a look with Draco.

“What?” I ask, trying to sit.

Carter places a hand on my shoulder so I stop rising. “It might be nothing, but we need to talk about what happened last night.” He removes his hand.

“Last night,” I parrot. Then I groan and close my eyes. “Did youallfind me?”

Draco squeezes my calf. “We were all there. I’ll get Everett and some Sprite.” The instant his fingers leave my body my stomach begins to stir.

I bite my lip and groan into the pillow.

“Here, let me try.” Carter’s fingers run over my arm, and while it feels nice, it doesn’t do much to stop the nausea. “Maybe you should stay,” he says to Draco.

“Hurry back.” Draco takes the spot at the end of the bed again and places his hands on me.

Carter leaves.

The sick feeling subsides, and I sigh.

“Just like that. Don’t stop.”

He snickers. “I’ll admit I’m not used to hearing those words in this type of situation.”

“You’re a pig,” I say.

When he full on snorts like a pig, I laugh. Then gasp at the sudden protest in my abdomen.

“Ow.”

“Sorry.” He runs his hands over my legs, the soft leather bracelet brushing against me. “Is this still helping?

“Mmm.” I close my eyes. “Why did you bite me?”

“You don’t remember?”

I frown. “Remember what?”

“You asked me to save you a year ago, not in so many coherent words, but you did.”

“I don’t know what you’re—” I cut off mid-sentence.

Oh.

There’s no way? Right? The only reason I wouldn’t recall saying something like that is because of alcohol. My last bender was about a year ago.
