Tsking, he drops his forehead against mine and closes his eyes, taking a deep breath. “The next time you slap me,” he says, grinding his hips against mine and drawing a gasp from me. “Do it harder.”

I swallow and clench my thighs together, stopping his ministrations because they’re driving me insane. “I think you’ve proven your point,” I say as a distraction. “Is this all you’re going to teach me?”

Shoving off of the mat, Draco stands, leaving a rush of cold air prickling over my skin. “For today. Class is out early.”

I sit up, and my eyes stray to his erection. He adjusts himself, and I glance away, chewing on my cheek.

A fine choice indeed,Joan whispers.

You have to stop trying to find me a harem. I’m good.

Joan scoffs.You could be better.

The music cuts off, and I stand and leave the gym without telling him bye.

Draco unsettles me.

And I’m stuck with solo lessons for a month.

Scrubbing my hand over my face, I run up the stairs and head toward the cafeteria.

All roads lead to food.

Draco

“That went well,” I say, glaring at Brayden.

He’s sitting on the stage near the dancefloor. This floor used to see a lot of dancing, back when they actually had a reason to throw balls. There’s nothing worth celebrating at Bad Moon Academy now.

“She’s strong willed. Patience is key.” His all-black ensemble is meant to provoke me, but I don’t let it. He’ll do whatever he can to get a rise out of me.

I run my hand through my hair. “Yes, but we don’t have time—”

“We have time,” he says, cutting me off with a pointed look. “You’re always in a hurry to get things done.”

“Yes, and you’re always slow. What’s your point?”

He raises his brow at my biting tone, ever the professor. “My point, Draco, is that Raven is complicated. She’s like an onion.”

“What?” I ask, shaking my head. “She doesn’t stink.”

Brayden makes a strange noise. “Moons, I mean she has layers.”

“Why didn’t you say that instead?” I start pacing back and forth. “It’s nothing but riddles and mysteries with you.”

“Are you mad?” he asks, standing and walking toward me.

I pause mid-step and glare at him. “No.”

His smirk is infuriating. “Liar. This was your plan.”

“Yes, well I didn’t think it would go like this,” I say, throwing my hands into the air. “Now she’ll never trust me.”

Brayden lifts a shoulder. “Only time will tell.”

Then he leaves me standing there without a backward glance.
