“I won’t—” I begin to say, only to be cut off when he grabs my waist and smashes his body against mine.
Air whooshes from my lungs.
“Do you trust me?”
I shake my head, pushing against his chest with my palm. He releases me and nods.
“Good. Don’t trust anyone. Not even your new little friend.”
With a frown, I try to make sense of this lesson. “Morg?”
“Do you know who she is?”
I start to say yes, then close my mouth. I don’t really know who she is. She was nice to me. Helped me decorate my room and keeps me company, but I haven’t learned much else about her other than what she told me the night I arrived.
Draco circles me, and this time I turn with him, keeping a wary eye on him. “How can you differentiate the light from the dark? The good from the bad? The living from the dead?”
His last question makes me pause. Does he know?
Wrapping his fingers around my wrist, he yanks me against his hard body again. “Distraction.” He tweaks my nose. “Do better.”
He’s cocky,Joan says with a laugh.
Do you mind helping? Aren’t you the one who knows how this works? Help a woman out.
I step out of his hold, and he moves again, stepping closer and closer with each orbit around me.
“Even the strong fall.”
Now,Joan says.
Stepping into his space, I bring my knee up as his eyes widen in surprise. He hadn’t expected me to do that. He’s quick though, and his hand stops me before I can do any damage.
Draco releases a full belly laugh. “Oh, now you want to play?”
Why do I feel like I made things exponentially worse for myself?
Without warning, he kicks my leg out from under me and I fall back. He’s still holding on to my other leg, and he follows me down, slamming his elbow into the mat to keep from entirely crushing me.
His hips press against mine, and his eyes grow hooded. “Lucky for you, I don’t mind a little pain.”
Good,Joan says before taking control of my body and punching him.
His head whips to the side, and he laughs again, this time it’s a deep throaty sound. He’s not mad.
If anything, he’s enjoying this.
Facing me, Draco darts his tongue to the small split where a bit of blood rises to the surface and licks it clean. Leaning closer to me, his eyes bore into mine. How can irises so light be so full of darkness?
“Remember what I said?” he whispers, nudging my nose with his.
I press my back into the mat, trying to create some space. He’s still mostly holding his body off me, but it’s impossible to ignore the hardness pressing against my stomach. Damn, if I don’t contemplate what he’d feel like inside me.
He’s a zeta. A strong one too. The harem would benefit from this alliance.
Jesus, Joan. I’m not making analliancewith Draco.Especially if it means having sex with him. Well, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a terrible experience, but I’m not in the market for a harem. I’m barely keeping it together as it is. Adding in not one but five men would make things complicated.
“What did you say?” I ask.
