She snorts. You don’t know how wolves work if you think he’s going to run away now that you’ve said that.
He releases a sound deep in his chest, almost like a purr but not.
“Are you… are you purring?” I shoot him an incredulous look.
Told you,my wolf says.
“Tell her we humbly accept.”
“You’re kidding me. You don’t know me.”
He clears his throat. “Time will work that out. It’s an honor to be chosen by a luna.”
Sitting at an empty table, I take a bite and watch him eat. His movements are precise, and I doubt he ever drops a piece of his food.
“Aside from swearing yourself to random strangers, what do you do for fun around here?”
His lips quirk, and he wipes his mouth with a napkin. “Have you been to the peak yet?”
I shake my head.
“I’ll find you after your next class and take you?” he asks, hope filling his eyes.
Do we get to run?
“Can we shift and go there?”
“It’s the only way to get to the peak.” He grins. “My wolf knew she would like that. The view is amazing.”
His wolf is smart.
Ugh. I am not enjoying this weird dance our wolves are engaged in, but the peak does sound interesting, and other than a phantom, there’s nothing to entertain myself with.
“Tell your wolf we humbly accept his offer.”
Everett snickers. “I don’t think he likes your sarcasm but this will be fun. I’ll see you later?” He tosses his dirty napkin onto his plate and stands.
“Sounds good,” I say, giving him a finger gun as he walks off.
What was that?
I internally groan—I feel dumb enough without you sounding so embarrassed.
What will the male think now? Don’t mess this up for us.
Us? I never agreed to your crazy harem idea.
She chuffs. Why wouldn’t you? Imagine all of them together, ravishing our bodies, their giant pen—
I choke on the drink of water I’m taking, and she continues to describe the group sex scene in great detail. When she mentions a throbbing member, I lose it and start giggling out loud. The people sitting a table over stop talking and peer at me. I laugh even harder because they look all too concerned for my well-being.
You won’t be laughing when it happens,my wolf says with a haughty huff.
I’m sorry, it’s hard to imagine and the throbbing member sounds a lot like a Harlequin romance novel.
Obviously, they know how to do things right then.
There’s no reasoning with her, so I finish eating and head to my next class. It’s going to take all of my willpower not to think about Everett’sthrobbing memberwhen we meet up later.
