Page 196 of His Reluctant Omega

Wilder gripped his ankles—one hand hitting the black monstrosity where he was reminded they weren’tcompletelyfree—before quickening his pace. He reveled in the pleasured expressions coursing over Avery’s face. Reaching down with one hand, he stroked Avery’s cock, red and angry, and ready for release.

When his omega finally came, he relished the cries. He drew them out, stretching every ounce from each. Only when he knew his mate had succumbed to pleasure did he race toward his own. He thrust as quickly as he could with care for their babe before exploding deep. His knot swelled, locking them together.

“Give meallyour babies,” Avery said, grinning.

Wilder hovered over Avery, his cock still straining. “I think… you’ve already got… all you can carry now.” He smiled, running a hand over the faint swell. He couldn’t wait to see his mate, big and swollen, ready to burst.

He rolled onto his back, carrying Avery on top. Straddling him, Avery lowered and rested on Wilder’s chest. The knot didn’t last long… his mate was already pregnant, and not long after they’d caught their breath, he carefully withdrew. Wilder collapsed beside Avery before dragging his mate closer, a little spoon into his big spoon. He took a deep inhale from Avery’s hair, loving the scent, the blend of soap and Avery.

“I love you,” Avery murmured.

Wilder kissed the back of Avery’s head. “And I you, my love.”

Quiet filled the bedroom, and for a moment, he wondered if Avery had fallen asleep. “You okay?” he whispered.

Avery rolled over in his arms. “What am I going to do stuck in this apartment for the next six months?”

“Well… let me see…” Wilder grinned. “We could do a whole lot more of that.”

“Yeah, of course, but let’s be serious. I’m going to go stir crazy.”

Wilder considered the question. “There are the plans for the house. You and I can meet here with the architect. I’m leaving the interior colors and whatnot to you. I can have them bring the samples here.”

“Because that’s an omega thing? Design the interior of a home?”

“I wouldn’t have the first clue how to make a home, and you asked for something to do.”

Avery scoffed. “That’s not enough to keep me busy.”

“Well, there are the plans for the mating ceremony. I’m sure you’ll want to get started on that, eventually.”

“And in between I can be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen?”

“No,” Wilder murmured. “Of course not.”

“I’ll need to find something or else I’m going to go mad.”

Wilder met Avery’s gaze. “Well… what about the investigation?”

“The investigation?” Avery’s eyes widened. “You mean to tell me you didn’t bring in an outside forensic investigator yet?”

“Everything froze after you were arrested. I spent a lot of time working to get you freed, so Vaughn had to slip into my role to make sure everything was running smoothly. We put the investigation on hold.”

“While he continued stealing from the coffers.”

“We reached out to Reece and White, but they didn’t have any free investigators for some time. I’ll have to ask Vaughn where that sits. If Reece and White haven’t started, it would be the perfect thing for you to work on here.”

“I wouldn’t have a networked computer.”

“I can ask IT to set me up a home office, with a networked computer, so I can work from home occasionally. No one would have to know that you were using it to investigate the theft. You could do everything you needed to do from here.”

Avery’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “I like that idea. Something I could really sink my teeth into.” He frowned. “Didn’t Vaughn reject me working on it from home?”

“Under these circumstances, I think he’ll relent.”

“I hope so,” Avery replied.

“Tomorrow morning, I’ll call Vaughn. If they haven’t started, then I’ll get the ball rolling with IT.”
