“Actually, while you’re here—I was hoping to discuss a little business before you leave,” Rohan said, shadowing them.
“I seem to recall you telling me I work too hard,” Wilder murmured over one shoulder.
“You do, but this is family related.”
“Oh?” His interest piqued.
“Afterthe party,” Rohan murmured, urging him on. They moved through the house and came to the large, open living area and went on through to the sunroom. The space usually housed Gray’s easels and paints. They had all had been cleared away to create room for a stunning long table filled with treats, small toys, plates, and assorted birthday paraphernalia. Balloons created a lush canopy above the table, with bright sunlight streaming through. Rohan’s manservant, the cook, and the children’s manny were finishing the decorations as they entered.
The double doors were open, and a light breeze streamed through. Outside, someone had turned the backyard into a young child’s fantasy. They had set small rides and attractions for the partygoers, along with attendants at each. Rohan and Gray had likely spent a small fortune on the party, but then how long had both of them waited to become parents? They deserved to splurge a little.
Jamie rose from his perch on Wilder’s foot and toddled over to a table covered with a few presents, snatching one before Rohan could rescue it from his chubby hands.
“We open presentslater,” Rohan instructed.
The presents!“Damn… I left their gifts out in my car. I’ll be right back.” Wilder spun, Silver still in one arm, and headed back toward the front door.
Once in the foyer, he grabbed the knob, whipped open the door… and nearly slammed into someone. Wilder took a step back and looked down. His heart thudded in his chest, making it harder to breathe.
Abraham Norcross, Gray’s handsome nephew, stood in the opening with a brightly wrapped package in one hand. Heat spread through Wilder as he stood there, gawking. He opened his mouth to speak and had absolutely no idea what to say.I want to rip every shred of clothing you’re wearing and bend you over the back of my car… didn’t seem anywhere near appropriate considering the situation. Thank the gods Silver was in his arms or he might’ve ended updoinginappropriate things, not just saying them.
“Where are you running off to so quickly?” Abe asked, his stare flicking to Wilder’s.
Abe licked his perfectly kissable lips, only adding to the desire already growing within. Wilder stared at that mouth a moment, wondering what the man tasted like. How it would feel for their tongue to clash and dance as he feasted.
“Wilder?”
Wilder closed his eyes and shook his head before reopening with a little more control. “I forgot the twins’ gifts out in my car.”
“Want me to take Silver?” Abe asked as he crossed the threshold… too close for comfort in Wilder’s mind. “You might need two hands.”
Oh, there are a lot of things I need my two hands for.
Abe placed his gift on a side table near the door and outstretched his hands to the toddler.
Silver smiled and reached for his cousin happily. “Avey.”
Wilder handed the child over and saw Abe’s eyes widen with a look akin to fear before his gaze lifted. “He’s still struggling with those b’s.” He looked down. “Abe, remember. Aaaabe.”
Silver smiled, tilting his head. “Avey.”
Wilder stared down at the beta, curious. He knew what Silver’s babble had sounded like.
Avery.
Abe’s eyes widened, his mouth dropping open. “Where did you hear that name?”
Wilder’s eyes narrowed.Did I say it out loud?“Avery?”
Abe’s face went ashen.
“Your uncle told me… it was your middle name.”
Abe was silent.
“It fits you,” Wilder murmured, moving a little closer. “You look more like an Avery than anAbraham.”
When Abe lifted his gaze and met Wilder’s… heat so familiar shone in the beta’s eyes. Wilder felt that heat down to his toes. His cock thickened, and he wet his lips, hungry for that kiss he’d lusted after for too long.
