“I’m doing my best, and I appreciate all your help.” I tell him.
He shrugs. “I’d do anything for Brynn, because she’s always done everything for Lin. Just don’t fuck it up.”
“Easier said than done,” I tell him.
“Don’t I know it,” Kade says, his eyes back on Lin.
The girls get dressed and ready for their presentation, and then, we’re back in the car and on our way. Looking at Brynn, you might not know she’s nervous, but her giveaway is that she’s twirling her hair.
“You’re going to do amazing, Firefly,” I whisper into her ear.
Her eyes meet mine. “I hope so. The town is depending on us doing well today.”
“This isn’t on you. If this doesn’t work, we go another route. We’re in this together the four of us, okay?” I tell her.
This seems to calm her, because she drops her hair and rests her head on my shoulder.
When we get there, it’s a flurry of activities. We’re whisked into some large meeting room. Kade and I are given seats in the back, and the girls are taken to the front of the room behind a podium.
They deliver their cases flawlessly with the stats on tourism now, and the history they dug up on Main Street. They present what they could do with the museum and the national landmark seal. They have plans on advertising it, and how it would increase tourism to not just Hummingbird Island, but to the state. How they can link it to other historic sites like Bath, North Carolina. Then, they show the plans of what the mayor is trying to do now, the history of the land developer, how it will destroy the buildings, and the history. They even have plans to build a replica lighthouse where the old one stood.
They have everything prepared with photos, graphs, and more. I’m so proud of how well they presented their case, and I’m not the only one.
“Wow, they did great,” Kade whispers next to me.
“Yeah, they did.” I agree.
They take some questions, and then a recess is called for the committee to go over everything, and we are told to come back tomorrow morning.
“Okay, we’re taking you girls out to dinner to celebrate.” Kade says, once we’re back in the car.
“We don’t even know if we won,” Lin says.
“It doesn’t matter, because your presentation was excellent, and it looks like it will go your way. Either way, you did it, and we’re celebrating.” Kade replies.
“I agree. You were both amazing up there. You had me convinced.” I tell them.
“You were already convinced, so your opinion is irrelevant.” Brynn waves me off.
Noticing Kade and Lin, whispering to each other, I lean down to Brynn’s ear.
“Watching you up there, commanding that room, it made me hot. Trust me, you had them convinced.” I whisper.
Her cheeks flush, and fuck, my cock gets hard at the sight. Thankfully, we pull up to our hotel.
“We’re going to check on things at The Inn and get ready,” Lin says.
“Meet back out here at six?” Kade asks.
“Sounds good.” I agree, as Lin and Kade head to their room, and I follow Brynn to ours.
“I guess, I should check in at Sunset, too,” Brynn says, as she sits down on the edge of the bed.
“Go ahead,” I tell her.
I sit against the headboard and pull her to sit between my legs with her back to my chest. As she talks to Rich, she rests her head against my shoulder.
“You found what in the pool?” Brynn asks.
