She did—and he went even deeper, hearing her moan.
They found their rhythm quickly, so quickly it startled him. It was if they had always done this together. His mouth sought hers and his tongue mimicked his penis, thrusting into her, dominating her, giving, taking, giving, taking more and more until his climax slammed into him. He pumped away, pure joy spreading through him.
Jackson collapsed atop Ainsley, quickly rolling to his side in order not to crush her. He enveloped her in his arms, holding her close, feeling her heart as it thumped wildly in her chest, knowing she could feel the same from him. He kissed her slowly, still inside her, reveling in the feel and smell of her.
“That was unreal,” she said when he broke the kiss. “I’m not sure if I even know what just happened.”
He kissed her brow. “That was us coming together. Two people who are in love. Who want to make the other perfectly happy.”
“You did all the work.”
He kissed the tip of her nose. “It wasn’t work at all, babe. It was pure pleasure.”
“Well, I liked everything you did,” she said saucily. “And I plan to do some of the same to you the next time.” She paused, turning shy. “You’ll have to guide me, Jackson. Help me understand what you like.”
“I will,” he promised. “For now, go to sleep.”
“I don’t want to,” she pouted. “I don’t want to miss a moment with you.”
“You, young lady, have a bakery to run.” He glanced at the clock on her bedside. “And it’s your bedtime. Besides, I need to get home. I’ve got a training session early tomorrow morning with Gage.” He grinned. “Although this was quite the workout. I may turn all my training over to you.”
Ainsley giggled, a sound of pure joy that tugged at Jackson’s heart.
“Do you really have to leave?”
“I think I should,” he told her. “But I’m happy to come back whenever you like.”
“I’m meeting the girls at five tomorrow for dinner. Remember, we’re going to talk about the wedding.”
“Then I should be here around seven,” he promised. “I’m going to go to the courthouse tomorrow and arrange a time for our wedding. And then I’ve got to make it to the office and start looking over Clancy’s files.”
He kissed her soundly and then left the bed, dressing as she watched him, an approving look in her eyes.
“We didn’t talk about what updates we would have Pete do,” she said.
“You told me your priorities. I’ll forward the estimate to you, but I plan on talking to Pete tomorrow. The sooner he can get started on things, the better. I also will call Clancy and tell him we’re buying the house and that I’m drawing up the paperwork.”
Jackson bent and kissed her. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, sweetheart.”
He left her in the bedroom, the hardest thing he’d ever had to do, and drove Dylan’s truck back to Boo’s. The entire way, it was as if his blood sang out her name.
He couldn’t wait to be married to Ainsley—and start their lives together.
CHAPTER 16
Ainsley awoke moments before the alarm sounded. She leaned over and turned it off and then stayed in bed a few extra minutes, her thoughts lingering on Jackson and what had occurred between them last night.
There was no doubt about it. The man knew his way around a woman’s body. He had explored her in ways no man had ever done. Not only had Jackson touched her physically, but he had touched her soul. She looked forward to spending more time with him and learning what would please him. She realized last night had been about him catering to her needs and making her comfortable, and she loved him for doing so. Having his love emboldened her, and she wanted to show him the depth of her feelings for him. She also wanted to learn what would arouse him and make him happy and looked forward to their next physical encounter.
She hadn’t minded him using a condom, but she was going to ask him to forgo doing so the next time they were together. He had mentioned his age a couple of times and how he wanted children. So did she. She didn’t see the point in them waiting to start a family when it was a priority for both of them.
Energized by the thought of having Jackson’s babies, Ainsley quickly got ready and headed down to the bakery, attacking her list and getting items into the ovens. Gus arrived before Gloria and Sheila as he always did, and while they made donuts and cinnamon rolls, she told him she had news.
“You’re going to marry that lawyer, aren’t you?” he asked.
“Yes, I am. And I would like you to make the groom’s cake.”
Gus grinned, his pleasure obvious. “You would trust me to do that, Ainsley?”
