“When the MoonGoddessdeems it to be so,” I muttered, rubbing Kane’s forearm. “But it is best to never lose hope and always be prepared.” I smiled, feeling awful for having to burst their bubble. Suddenly screams from Raine trickled to our table. Sugha shot up from his seat, his heart pounding.
Raine panted, and it had Evelyn scream in laughter as her aunt playfully fell to the ground.
“No, she is not my mate.” Sugha shook his head. “She smells of a wet animal.”
“Gee, thanks!” Raine said, finally rising. “I came to tell you that Sebastian and his mate are here!” I screamed, jumping from the table when I saw the heat of my mother’s gaze fall on me.
Right, got to conclude the meeting.
“Raine, have them meet us in the foyer.” Turning, I signed my signature on the new treaty to break down the walls of the Forbidden Forest I was sure many would want to explore it once the time came. Pushing the parchment to Kane, he also signed his name and put our seal on top. Beside it, Osirus and Melina’s names were shown brightly in gold ink.
“I’ll put this in the archives, and we will send the dragons to push it down. Your people are welcome to all kingdoms.”
I grabbed Evelyn and put her on my hip. Kane had his arm around us as I tried to speed walk to the pack house, which really was Kane’s normal walking pace. I squealed again, holding Evelyn. She copied me, burying her little claws in my hair.
“Don’t see why you are so excited to see him.” Kane grunted. “He was nothing but trouble trying to get you to take him as a mate.” I stopped my footsteps and pulled on his hand.
“Please don’t say anything. I’m not sure if he has told his mate yet.” Kane’s eyes softened, pecking my lips.
“I would never disobey my queen.”
I had heard incredible news months ago that Sebastian ended up landing in the Back Raven Coven on Earth. Rowan, the elder over the coven, contacted us before the war even started letting me know that Sebastian had found his mate and was currently trying to convince her mates were real.
I wanted to be there, help him out. He was so desperate to find someone, and he found her far more quickly than I ever anticipated. Elder Rowan said that my Jeep died a valiant death, leading Sebastian to his final destination.
Opening the pack doors, Sebastian and his mate stood with their backs to me, taking in the overly decorated foyer for the coronation tonight. Flowers hung from the cabin-like rafters, and strings of lights decorated the walls.
“Sebastian!” I yelled. He turned around in surprise, with his arm wrapped around his mate. She had beautiful blonde hair, and gorgeous red eyes with hints of violet-blue. She waved shyly before gripping onto Sebastian, who kissed her forehead gently.
They were the sweetest, and I was so happy Sebastian found her so quickly. Taliyah and Jasper also joined us, bringing them into the downstairs conference room to discuss how to hand over the kingdom. Sebastian and his mate would be crowned as soon as the new palace was built. With the combined powers of the witches and warlocks, along with the help of both kingdoms, it would take only a few months, right before Taliyah was to give birth to the new heir.
“We really thank you,” Taliyah spoke softly. She had tried so hard to be the ruler that the people wanted. She sacrificed a lot of time with Jasper while he begged for redemption. Parliament, which now consisted of new members who fought in the war against the rogues, was completely filled. Their demands for only a vampire to rule made her concede. Was it something she really wanted anyway? Or just fill the empty line of the father she never knew?
“Where will we go?” Taliyah muttered to Jasper. Along with conceding the throne until a full-blooded heir came to power, they also lost any money to take with them.
“Start from scratch.” Jasper put his arms around her. “I can be an omega in one of the outlining packs or become a warrior trainer for the pups. We have many places to go in the Cerulean Moon Kingdom,” he kissed her cheek.
“That’s right.” Kane crossed his chest. “In fact, you should just stay here, in the Warrior pack. Marcus will be taking over once the palace is renovated. I’m sure he can find you a spot to stay.” Jasper smiled, appreciative of the offer.
“As much as I want that,” Jasper replied. “I think Taliyah and I would like the quiet life. Maybe take a cabin north of the Crimson Shadows pack territory. I don’t need a rank. Just my girl and my pup.” Taliyah laughed, rubbing her still small belly.
“You can still be a warrior, Jasper. You are good at it, and you should use your skill to protect others.” Jasper continued to stare into Taliyah’s eyes, shaking his head. “You are my only concern, little witch, and our baby.”
“We’ll think about it.” Taliyah winked at me. “I’m sure Jasper can’t handle being idle too long.”
Kane and I had returned to our room to prepare for the upcoming ‘for show’ coronation. I had just finished my hair. My gown was a deep blue with tiny white pearls strung about the bodice. The intricate designs of silver and gold outlined the see-through sleeves that would cap at my shoulders.
It continued to stay there on the bust brought in to mimic my form. I was too small for the regular fitting, so now special seamstresses had to make dresses for me. I blew out through my nose harshly, not understanding the big deal of being small. I mean, I wasn’t that much smaller.
I crossed my arms, staring at it. My hair was done in loose curls, and the beautiful flower crown was created by the little pups of the pack for me to wear as I walked down the aisle. Of course, it would be replaced with the Cerulean Moon Kingdom crown once it was all said and done.
Kane strolled out of the shower. His typically naked body was covered with a towel around his waist. The droplets of water dripped down his newly tattooed torso, and the scar over his eyebrow gave him an even more dangerous look.
And he was mine.
Kane stopped in his tracks once he reached the bed. His back expanded, taking large breaths. “Mate.” He growled, pulling the towel tighter on his waist. “You are torturing me.”
Okay, got a little turned on.
