“That’s a lie. You’ve been working,” he whispered accusingly.
“Well, I worked while you were away,” I corrected myself. “Now tell me, what did you find?” Jasper growled in his chest as he pulled away from my neck. The scruff left chills down my body.
Our passionate kisses, feeding on his neck and rubbing in places, had me begging for more. My body was ready anyway, but my mind was still apprehensive. He was so much more experienced.
Experienced in a way I really hated.
“By the time I got to the ruins, it was up in flames. Melina brought Horus, Osirus’s Darius, and torched the place of all the rogue vampires.” Jasper rounded the desk, tapping his middle finger on the hardwood surface. “A sorceress was there, Prinna. Blood Coven leader.” Jasper rambled off. “She’s dead. We don’t have to worry about her,” he said without emotion.
I let out a sigh, pulling my hair around my shoulders, braiding it as I leaned back in the chair. Jasper came behind me, putting his hands on my shoulders. “Are you sure she’s dead? She may have done something to…”
“She’s dead,” Jasper snapped, running his hands through his hair. “Horus swallowed her whole.” I gulped, not liking his tone. Xander was growling obscenities at him. I’m not sure if Jasper was aware, but Xander was becoming louder every day. Shooting off comments in his head about how we haven’t mated. It only made me more agitated and more stressed.
“Maybe that is the only one.” Jasper cleared his throat. “I’m hoping so anyway.” Xander crawled up in Jasper’s mind. I swear I thought I saw him looking straight at me. His once angry eyes softened, his eyebrows raised, whining at me as his jaw sat on his paws.
He didn’t feel wanted.
“Osirus and Melina’s mating ceremony and coronation are in a few days.” Jasper pulled an envelope from his pocket. “They understand if we can’t come. They know we are trying our best.” I hummed, taking the envelope and putting it on the table. There was no way I was leaving the broken kingdom in this state.
I had dived into the world laid out in front of me, trying to rebuild a dying kingdom. Rogue witches, vampires, and who knows what else was building. It was getting stronger by the day, and there was nothing I could do. Jasper leaned against the desk, his muscles stiff with worry, and I wasn’t sure if it was for the kingdom, me, or the both of us.
I had put mating off for the longest time and always remained busy. The sparks were hard to ignore, and they were both suffering. It had been long enough, long enough for him to show me he was more than willing to wait.
My soul couldn’t stand it, he couldn’t stand it, and Xander had already voiced his opinion. Walking my body around where Jasper had leaned up against the desk, his rippling muscles still gleaming with sweat. His downward glance at the cream-colored carpet became but a memory as he looked at my face.
“I’m sorry.” I bit my cheek. Jasper’s knuckles brushed the cheek I was biting, shaking his head.
“Don’t be,” he whispered. “I sure made a mess of things in the past. Maybe I haven’t made up enough for it. I shouldn’t be upset.” He chuckled, dropping his hand. I grabbed it, putting it back on my cheek.
“But you have,” I pushed. “I’m… I’m just inexperienced, and I worry—” Jasper pinched my chin, tilting it upward. His teeth caught my lips, sucking them into his mouth. Arms wrapping around my waist, he pulled me into his warm embrace. Hands digging into my hair, he growled, his shaft pushing right into my stomach. I moaned, scratching my nails down his back.
“Taliyah.” His lips left me briefly to whisper a silent prayer of my name. “Taliyah, I don’t fucking care about experience. You are perfect for me.” His tongue invaded my mouth. The warmth of his tongue and his fingers digging into my hips had me melting.
Holding me up as my weak knees trembled, he broke away, panting. “Anything important on this desk?” I tilted my head in confusion until his arm swiped the entire desk. Papers, pens, and the cursed computer dropped to the floor.
Jasper picked me up, having me straddle his waist as he roughly sat me on the desk. “Now tell me”—his eyes flashed to Xander—“what have you been hiding from me, little witch?” I hummed, looking down at my hands only to have that damn finger lift my chin up. “Answer me.” He growled. As angry as Jasper was getting right now, I was utterly turned on. My inner thighs were shaking with anticipation. His nostrils flared, his eyes rolling back in his head.
“I worry that I will not know what to do.” I panted. “That I won’t be good enough.” Jasper shook his head, both hands sitting beside my hips.
“Oh, Taliyah.” He chuckled. “Don’t you know it is I who is nervous?” My mouth hung open, shaking my head. “Oh yes. What you fail to realize is I didn’t care for any of those other women. I got what I wanted and left; I was a dick.” Shutting my mouth, I stared at him. “Now that I have my mate,” his finger trailed down my neck. “I want nothing more than to fucking please her, and I have been dying to try one thing I have never done on any woman.”
I visibly gulped, watching Jasper and that devilish smirk slide across his face. “And I want to do it right now.” My mind went a mile a minute, trying to think what he had never done to a woman. I ended up blank as he parted my legs. The dress I wore inched up my thighs, his eyes never leaving me while biting his lower lip.
“May I?” Xander flashed before Jasper’s eyes. “We won’t go all the way,” he whispered in my ear. Hands ran up my thighs until one hand had a claw scratched the desk.
“Gracious,” I whispered, feeling the heat of Jasper’s breath. “Okay.” My voice shook. Jasper breathed deeply, his fingers trailing near my inner thighs. My hands went to grip his shoulders. He licked his lips as his fingers inched forward.
“How do you feel about…” He growled, taking a claw and pulling down one side of my dress. The fabric grazed my shoulder, falling down my arm. My body was so turned on that there wasn’t a way I was saying no. Not under this gaze of lust he held in his eyes. I felt wanted and adored, and all the things he had done for me in the past few months came to the forefront of my mind.
He wanted me; he had pursued me, and now he asked if he could do wicked things to my body. “Yes.” I breathed heavily into his mouth. Jasper pulled down my dress harshly, the silk-like fabric falling just above my breasts. His groan of impatience had him curse between his teeth as he pulled the fabric just below my nipples, pushing my breasts upward.
“Oh fuck.” He pushed me down on the desk, hovering over me, pawing at every inch of my skin. One hand pinched my nipple while the other was being sucked on by his mouth. His tongue circled my nipple, pulling it with his lips. My knees rose, and my legs rubbed his torso as he stood over me with a heated breath.
“You are so fucking gorgeous.” His teeth bit into my skin. “And mine.” My hands pulled on his hair, only for his head to slip away. The golden eyes of Xander stared back at me, my elbows lifting from the table to hold the upper part of my body steady while he inched down. The cool air caused my nipples to harden from Jasper’s absence.
“Ready?” Jasper’s lips kissed my hip bone, my dress now bunched around my torso. My poor panties didn’t know what was coming as Jasper ripped both sides with his claws, throwing them to the floor. My body was completely open to him, my hands balled up into fists, staring at his hungry eyes.
“W-what are you doing?” If it were possible, Jasper pushed my legs wider, his nose going straight for my pussy.Oh, gods, he wouldn’t!
