“That is so right, I’m so happy this didn’t have to be prolonged. You both deserve each other; it’s why you found each other so quickly.” Luci pulled me back from Ember, encircling me with his wings.

“Excellent job, Lucifer.” Hades slapped Luci’s back. “I hope we won’t have to have any more conversations like earlier.” He stared at Luci pointedly. Ember and I popped our heads back and forth between the two like we were watching a ping-pong match. “Right?”

Lucifer shook his head, his arms wrapping around me tightly. “Nor with Ares, we will be just fine.”

Hades visibly sighed, wiping the invisible sweat from his forehead. “Oh, and Ares has been handled. He is confined to his room with Mariah until further notice,” he said flatly.

“Did I get them in trouble?” I whispered up to Luci.

I didn’t want to get anyone in trouble. I just wanted him to stop talking about all that stuff. It was too much, and my poor little head was still getting over the fact that the other poor, little tadpoles die once the biggest and strongest one reaches the pink egg.

“Ares is going through some difficulties right now,” Hades sighed, pulling Ember to his side, rubbing his temple with his other hand.

Before I could ask if there was something I could do to help, a shrill scream resonated from outside the throne room doors. Loki dashed in, straight to me, hiding behind my legs, but Luci picked me up and wrapped my legs around his waist.

“Luci, my bum!” I squealed, worried my cheekies would fall out of my dress.

“I got you, bunny.” His arms pulled my dress down, folding them so that I was sitting on his arms, keeping my bum covered.

“Bunny?” Loki questioned as a pretty demon with bright red skin, black horns, and a really low-cut top sauntered in.

“Loki, you cannot treat me that way!” Her voice came out smoother than the screech we just heard. She tossed her long, black hair over her shoulder while sashaying up the aisle in black high heels.

It had to hurt wearing those all day long. How could she possibly run and play with Loki like that?

“Your Majesties.” She bowed slightly.

I think if she curtsied, her lady parts would fall out. Then again, her… bosoms were about to fall out too.I covered Luci’s eyes.It would be a shame if those came out while we were all staring.

“Alana,” Hades' tone soured, “I respawned you, but you know the rules. If Loki somehow manages to kill you, you forfeit the position. I need someone competent, and wasting my time respawning demons, I find annoying.” Alana stood, her once pretty, straight shoulders drooped.

“I apologize,” she muttered. “I would love another chance if you would permit me. I enjoy hanging out with…” she hesitated, noticing Lucifer, “Loki.” She gritted her teeth.

Maybe she has a toothache.

“No. Uriel is my new nanny.” Loki tugged on my arm trying to pull me down, but Luci growled at him. Giggling, I put my head on his shoulder, and he grabbed my butt.

“Not in front of your parents,” I muttered into his shoulder

“Uriel is not your nanny anymore,” Luci spoke harshly to Loki.

Loki groaned, rolling his head back in annoyance. “You told her?” he whined. “Can she at least still look after me? I only want her.”

I gleamed.Loki liked me so much that he wanted me to hang out with him, to take care of him.

“Can I?” I fluttered my lashes at Luci. “I really like Loki.”

Luci growled, his teeth grazing my shoulder. “We only asked you to be his nanny to convince your mother to let you stay.” He nipped me. “Now that we don’t have to withhold information from you, I want you with me.”

I squeezed his neck, loving how possessive he was of me.I really liked it. He wanted to be with me all the time.

“But Loki is lonely too,” I pressed.

“Excuse me?” Alana interjected. “Is there any way I could still work in the palace? My parents were quite proud I made it here. I don’t want to disappoint them.” Alana’s head dropped in defeat.

I took her job, even if I didn’t mean to.

“Could I possibly be this woman’s assistant or attendant?”
