Once Odessa’s eyes met his, her smile grew wide. He was all right, and he was still breathing and standing. Odessa ran straight towards her mate. She flung her arms out wide, and all Creed could do was do the same. He picked her up and twirled her around. It felt right, the touch of her skin, the bounce of her hair. Everything was right in the world, except he did not know who this woman was, but it made him happy that she would run to him. A scary Dragon like him.

“What is your name?” he whispered as he smiled. Putting her feet back into the snow, ever so gently, Odessa looked up at him, tears already springing to her eyes.

“What?” she whispered. Odessa was beside herself; she couldn’t understand. He promised he would never forget her. A sad smile was forced onto her face, her hand touching the side of his cheek. Automatically, Creed leaned into her touch, not knowing what his body was doing.

“I’m Odessa, your fawn.” Creed looked at her, his eyes blinking long and wide. His Dragon purred violently in his chest, upset that his human could not remember. His chest hurt, the feeling inside him making him feel unstable. He swayed until Odessa caught him. The tingles rushed up to his arm this time, causing a shock to his brain. Her citrus smell had him inhaling deeply, the curve of her body, the gentleness of her touch, they all seemed so familiar, but where?

Odessa couldn’t wait any longer.Truelove heals everything, right? She thought to herself. All the Fairy tales say so, and wasn’t she living in one? Tugging at his braids, Creed lowered his body as Odessa cupped his face with both hands, placing her pretty pink lips on his.

Chapter Fifty-Seven

Odessa

Ipulledonhislong braids. His startled reaction told me he really didn’t remember. All the times we had kissed, pulling on his hair so he could bend over and meet me while I stood on my tippy toes. None of it was remembered as his eyes continued to stay open. I wasn’t afraid. I was going to carry on the love we both had for each other and push it back into him. If he had to relearn everything we had done, I would take the time and patience to do so because he was worth it. He was my mate, and I wouldn’t give him up so easily.

I closed my eyes, his lips inches from mine, and his head jerked back only for me to push harder on my toes, finally meeting his lips. His lips didn’t move. They stood still until I slowly pecked his lips, massaging them like the first time we shared our first kiss on the cliff.

Creed’s body relaxed. It came closer to me, and his muscular torso met my body. Arms encircled my waist, and a sweet hum left his lips. His tight squeeze had me arching my back, his kiss now more furious and confident, the same kisses I knew from the Creed. “Odessa,” he growled into my mouth. My fingers held onto his bearded cheeks, my legs wrapping around his body. “My fawn.” His lips let go, our foreheads touching, gracing me.

“You forgot me,” I whined, kissing his cheek again. “You promised,” my voice muffled as I continued to kiss him.

“My heart didn’t.” Our Dragons purred against each other, feeling the warmth we now shared. “My heart never forgot.”

“You’re still in trouble.” I kissed him again. He laughed, putting his fingers through my hair.

“I’ll take any punishment you wish,” he whispered into my ear. I giggled, hugging him tightly.

“It’s just so sweet.” Princess Clara stood behind us. “It’s like a Fairy tale!” she sniffed. Kane stood beside her, completely naked. I whipped my head around, covering my face with Creed’s shoulder, who only chuckled.

“I’ll give you a Fairy tale when we get home, baby.” Kane slapped her butt, pulling her in tight. “I’ll be your prince charming too.” Clara shook her head, now holding his hand.

“No, you will always be my bad boy, and I like that,” Kane smirked, kissing her lips.

“Told you she would be of some help.” Melina fluttered down along with Osirus, who had a scowl on his face.

“You put her in danger, Melina. You and your pesky words.” Osirus' skin and wings were still dark. I’ve noticed when he becomes angry or upset, the colors on his body transform. “What would the Black Dragon have done if he found out his mate was kidnapped?”

“But she wasn’t.” Melina crossed her arms. “Now everything is hunky-dory, and we can head back.” Osirus scoffed, giving her a look that only Melina would know. Her eyes widened; a mischievous grin settled on her face. “Uh oh,” she snickered.

“My apologizes she escaped, Alpha Creed,” Osirus bowed. “It seems the women conspired against me.”

“She came when she knew I needed her.” Creed held me close. “And I needed her.” Osirus pursed his lips, holding out his hand. Creed and Osirus clasped each other's forearms in agreement.

“Well, now that you have beaten the prick, how about we celebrate? Party in the Golden Light Kingdom!” Osirus laughed out.

A hushed silence swept the crowd. The Dragons of the tribe, whom I had never seen, looked over to Creed, begging for him to say something to them. He looked indifferent towards them as if seeing them not for who they really were. The entire tribe had been under a spell for most of his life, some forty-odd years, and he could not let go of the faces that taunted him for the majority of it.

One by one, warriors walked up to Creed, a line formed instantly, all kneeling before him, crossing their arms in allegiance. Creed stared down at them, having a hard time forming words. Once the crowd of warriors had formed, they followed suit of the first. Their softened eyes, their hearts no longer tainted with the black magic that was now dead.

“We are sorry, Creed.” Creed held onto me like a lifeline. He wasn’t sure what to say. “We, we see all the wrongs we have done to you but know this; we would not have treated you the way we had if the magic did not curse us.” Creed sighed heavily, looking away from the warriors. He searched for something. May it be a sign or a prayer to some Gods, I couldn’t be sure.

“I know it was magic.” His voice was stern, not like the way he talked to me. “But I spent many years alone in exile, being tortured not just by my brother but by every warrior here. I am not a good enough Dragon to forget that, which means I would not be a good enough Alpha to run this tribe.” Many whispered, gasping that the strongest Dragon here would give up such an opportunity.

“Forgive me, but doesn’t that make you the best suitable to be the Alpha? Knowing that you are not perfect, you will have hard feelings towards your tribesmen. We are willing to take your punishment.” Creed raised his hand, stopping the warrior from speaking.

“I cannot punish you for something you did unknowingly. Adam had his claws in all of us. I cannot punish you for what you had no control over.” The warriors slumped their heads, the remaining tribe murmuring in low, hushed whispers.

“I will help find a suitable Alpha. Until then, I will help rebuild the tribe. It is what mother would have wanted.” The tribe looked to Creed; they still saw him as Alpha. I could feel the loyalty already forming with all the Dragons.
