Creed nodded to Clara and to Glinda, who smiled. “This evening then, as I said before, I will come find you, Black Dragon.”

“Please send word once you know what curse is on him, if any. I want to be fully informed since we will return to the Crimson Shadows Pack soon. My poor daughter Evelyn doesn’t get much time with me. We need to head back.” She giggled, leaning her head in Kane’s chest.

“Congratulations, and thank you,” I spoke. “Thank you for not making me go back.”

“Odessa, I’m sorry I jumped to conclusions. I’m still new at all these formalities. I really hope you can forgive us.”

“Nothing to forgive. As long as I can stay with Creed, right?” I gripped hold of my mate.

Clara smiled brightly. “Of course! You honestly look like a mated pair, anyway. I would ask you to take good care of her, Creed, but I think you already do that.” Creed’s lip curled, his head resting on my head.

“Congratulations on your union.” Kane stood up, crossing his arm over his chest. “I believe you are of excellent character. Not once have you tried to show your power to any of us, even though I know you could wipe us all out of the room instantly.”

Wow, was Creed that powerful?

Creed had me sit on the table. He bowed low to Kane with his arms crossed. “I hope to work with you soon, maybe get some revenge on a blood-sucker.” Kane chuckled.

Clara poked Kane in the stomach. “Baby, that’s racist.”

“Nothing leaves this room.” Kane ignored Clara’s words, only petting her head lovingly. “Lura, as the cousin to King Osirus, I’m sure you understand this. I’m glad Daine isn’t present. He’s a loud, unruly motherfucker.” Lura giggled until the door burst open in the back of the large conference room.

“Who summoned a party without me!?” A tall, slender man, with Elven ears, long white hair, and beautiful wings sprouted behind him. They fluttered, causing the wind to curl down the table.

“Osirus!” Lura squealed, running into his arms. The woman beside him with glorious wings of blue and green hissed at Lura, who only laughed. The girl immediately returned the gesture and shrieking at each other.

“Pleasure,” Zaos spoke, smiling brightly. “You are here for our weekly bonfire party?”

“Of course, we were just heading back from our honeymoon, and look at what day it is! It would be the perfect ending to our sinful honeymoon fun.” His eyebrows wiggled, pulling the girl by the waist.

“How are you, Melina?” Zaos walked to her, kissing her hand. Her blush crossed her face.

“Well, thank you.”

“Ahh, what do we have here?” The guy named Osirus came sauntering beside Creed. I gripped ahold of Creed’s torso.

“The infamous Black Dragon staking a claim on a helpless human girl.” Osirus circled us, Creed never moving. My eyes could not leave the feminine look this man had. His skin was too perfect, too mystical, and utterly clean.

“Your aura is certainly… interesting.”

Chapter Thirty-Five

Odessa

“Osirus, rightnowisn’tthe time to play cryptic. These two have been to hell and back, and I don’t think Odessa could take much more.” Clara stood up, joining Osirus on the other side of the table.

“Of course not, I would never think of such a thing.” His fangs lengthened, smiling down at us. It reminded me of the Vampires before they fed. My heart raced and Osirus’ face immediately fell. “Oh, you’re that serious. I’m terribly sorry.”

“You are so insensitive to others.” The beautiful butterfly winged woman named Melina approached. Her white hair with beautifully colored tips swayed across her matching outfit with her mate. “She’s scared to death. Can you not see that?” Osirus’ once mischievous face softened.

“Sorry, darling, I was concentrating on your friend here.” His eyes glanced over to Creed. “I would have thought your aura would be darker, but there isn’t a bit of blackness in your heart, yet your soul, your soul, has been tainted.” He hummed.

“By magic?” Kane now stood by Clara, pulling her back from Osirus. His judging glances at the winged man made me think they had history.

“I honestly don’t know. I’ve never seen it before. Looks like I’ve been lied to.” Osirus continued to circle; his jaw tightened, and his wings actually darkened in shades.

“What I can tell you is that this girl has emotions all over the place. What the hell have you been doing to her before I got here?”

Clara’s lips went to a thin line, looking at the ground. “I was assuming something I shouldn’t have. It has been corrected, but now we have a whole new set of problems.”
