“I’m disappointed in you, Jax.” She stared speechless. “After all this time, you don’t get it. Making you sign an NDA has never crossed my mind. You’re carrying our child, Jax. He are she is more important than anything. Now, I understand why you would risk your worst nightmare being released to see me. We have to stick together, now more than ever, to figure out who this person is and why they so badly want to keep us apart.”
“The last thing I want to see is one of my worst nightmares being released for the world to see, but…” She touched her stomach.
“I can’t let you put your life, and our baby’s life in danger by going back to your apartment. I will have Morgan collect everything you need. I’ll have whatever else you would like moved.”
“Okay Chase.” she said with a smirk.
My arms flew around her, ensuring I placed her mouth against my shoulder. I was not about to give her a chance to change her mind.
When she embraced me in return, I lifted and turned with her locked in my tight embrace. My muffled laughter bounced off her neck and breezed through her ponytail as her giggle mixed with the jubilation of mine.
“You have no idea how happy you make me,” I voiced while setting her back on her feet. “You too,” she said in a low apprehensive tone. She wasn’t comfortable expressing her feelings to me, but I sensed her trying. At once, I exploded with concern over the way I had just handled her.
“I didn’t hurt you, did I, tossing you about. What about all the reunion sex we have been having?”
She giggled. “I doubt he’s the size of a plum, but as far as I’ve read, and from with my doctors say, my condition doesn’t make me breakable. I can do everything I did before with a little more caution.”
My lips twitched and my cheeks rose high. “He? You called him a he? You know the gender already?”
“No, but I believe it’s a he, because I can’t possibly live with the idea of a mini version of me roaming the planet,” she admitted, causing an outburst of laughter to rush from me.
My cheeks started to ache, I grinned so hard. I was going to be a father. Me. Although he was the size of a plum according to Jax, I couldn’t resist reaching out to stroke her belly. She placed her hand over mine and smiled up at me.
There was no movement of any kind, but I didn’t care because my son, or daughter was in there, and although Jax smiled now, she would hate me later. If she believed I was an obsessed stalker before, I hated to think about what she would label me now that I knew she was carrying our baby.
