“Maybe,” I say, whimpering as he pushes in even deeper. “Sometimes.”
“Not good enough. Tell me you’re going to behave from now on.” He starts sucking on my neck again.
“No,” I manage to squeak out as I shudder against him.
“Are you sure?” He slows down and starts pulling out. “Maybe you want to change your answer.”
“Stop,” I say, digging my nails into his butt and trying to push him back in. “Butch! Stop teasing me. Get back inside.”
“Tell me you’re going to behave for me.” He presses up on his elbows and looks down at me. He’s grinning from ear to ear. “Tell me, Kit.”
“Fine!” I say, grabbing his shoulders and trying to pull them down. “I’ll behave, okay?”
“Very doubtful,” he says as he lowers himself back down. “But I’ll take the win for now.”
As he starts pumping harder, he reaches down and starts stroking me. As soon as he touches my clit, my body slams hard into his as it ripples out a long, slow orgasm. He holds me tightly against him as he starts grunting. When he finally releases, he lets out a loud, sharp groan and collapses on top of me. Neither of us move until our breathing slows down to almost normal.
“So I guess you really are into me, huh?” I say as he finally rolls off.
“Yeah. Just a little.” He laughs as he pulls me onto his chest. “I told you, I’m into you, but I didn’t want a one-night stand.”
“So what changed?”
“Uh,” he says, “I guess what you said when we were in the water today—that in your mind, you’ve been out of your relationship for months.”
“Yeah, I definitely have,” I say, looking up at him. “It’s just taken me a while to realize it.”
When I try to sit up, he pulls me more tightly to him. “You’re not going anywhere.”
“Butch, I need water before we resume activity. I swear I think I sweated out my entire body weight in the last hour.”
“I’ll get it,” he says, standing up and pulling on his jeans. “I have cold water in a cooler in my room. I’ll be right back.”
“Is now a good time to chase you down the hall naked?”
“Let’s leave something for tomorrow.” He grabs my key off the dresser. “Hey, there’s an envelope for you on the floor. Was this here when we came in?”
“I don’t think so but I was kind of preoccupied.” I sit up as he brings it over to me. “Oh, it’s a note from Claire. Elle called her to see if I wanted to go get a new phone in the morning. Remember? Mine’s dead.”
“Yeah,” he says, nodding at the table by the bed. “Use mine if you want to call her. Password spells out Georgia in case you forgot. I’ll be right back.”
When he closes the door, I grab the phone and call Elle.
“Butch?” She picks up on the first ring.
“It’s me. He just left my room. He’ll be back in a second. Mateo called you?”
She makes a squeaking sound. “Why is Butch in your room?”
“Why do you think? Elle, speak. What did Mateo say?”
“He wants to get back together with you. He said he made a mistake—that he wants to move here now. He’s been texting you. I told him your phone fell into the water.”
My eyes dart around the room. “Holy fuck! What did you say?”
“Nothing really. I said that you were fine, and I’d tell you that he called. He said he was sorry he didn’t answer this morning. His phone was off. He really wants to talk to you. Did you have sex with Butch?”
“Yes. I have to go,” I whisper as I hear the key slip into the lock. “He’s coming back in. I’ll call you tomorrow.”
