“Or what?” I shove him on the chest to try to get him to back up. It doesn’t work. “You don’t even know who I am.”
“I can find out who anyone is.” His shoulders start arching toward me like he’s a vulture about ready to swoop down on his prey.
I hit him again—this time with my fist balled up. I think it hurts my knuckles more than it hurts his chest, but he takes a step back.
“I can find out who anyone is, too,” I say, trying to stretch up as tall as I can. “I’ll tell you what I do with people when I find them if you tell me. I bet mine’s much worse.”
“What the fuck?” Seb says as he comes charging down the hallway. He grabs Jeff and pins him up against a wall with his forearm. He looks back at me. “You okay?”
“I’m fine.”
“Seb, she was eavesdropping on our conversation.”
“I wasn’t eavesdropping—not on purpose,” I say, looking up at Seb. “But I overheard the conversation. Sorry. I got caught and didn’t know how to escape.”
His strained expression lightens as he looks down at me. “Don’t worry about it. How much did you hear?”
“The prenup stuff.”
“Are you going to tell Sophie?” He takes his arm off Jeff’s chest.
“No, but you should. She told me how you guys met—the secret you were keeping from her. Don’t hide things from her, even if you’re doing it to protect her. Sophie’s tough.”
He nods. “I know she is. I’ll tell her.”
“What’s going on here?” I look around Seb to see Alex headed down the hallway.
“Our agent had Raine trapped in the hallway when I got here.”
“Excuse me?” Alex grabs Jeff by the collar and pins him back up against the wall. “What the fuck, Jeff?”
“He’s your agent, too?” I look over at Alex and shake my head. “Damn, you guys know how to pick them.”
“He’s my agent for now,” Alex says, looking back at me. “Did he hurt you?”
“No, nothing like that. He’s mad that I overheard his conversation with Seb.”
Alex looks up at Seb. “I’m sure she didn’t mean to—”
“I’m not pissed at her, but I’m about ready to punch him,” Seb says, pointing at Jeff. “Don’t you ever fucking touch Raine again.”
Alex shoves him harder against the wall. “You touched her?”
“Finally!” Sophie says as she turns the corner. “Seb, I’ve been looking for you. Wait, what’s wrong? What’s happening?”
Seb steps in front of her to shield her from Alex and Jeff. “Nothing, baby. Everything’s fine. Are you ready to go back to our place?”
“Yes, but tell me what’s happening. You look mad.”
“It’s nothing you need to worry about.” Seb turns his head to look at me. He nods as I raise my eyebrows. “But I’ll tell you everything in the car. Let’s get out of here. Alex, will you make sure Raine gets back to her room safely tonight?”
Alex grabs my hand and pulls me next to him. “Yeah, I’ve got her.”
Sophie looks at me, her eyes wide. “Why do you need someone to get you back to your room safely? Is someone trying to hurt you?”
“Well, Savannah for one,” Alex says, laughing as he looks down at me. “Have you fought with anyone else tonight?”
“Wait, what?” Seb says. “Did you get into a fight with Savannah tonight? And more importantly, did you win?”
