“No! Stop,” I say, pointing at him. “You don’t get to say anything. You told me you would never doubt my analysis. I’ll be very offended if you go back on that.”

He smiles and nods. “Can I just say thank you then?”

“I’ll allow it.” I push myself off the door. “Thanks for the talk. It helped more than you know.”

“Any time,” he says as I walk out. “I mean that, Raine. I’m here for you any time you need me.”

“I already told you that you’re perfect,” I yell as I continue down the hall. “Stop trying for bonus points.”

I hear him chuckling as I head back outside. Millie looks up at me from the poker table as I walk out.

“All good?” she says, swatting Butch’s hand as he tries to grab some of her chips.

“Yep,” I say, patting her shoulder. “It’s perfect.”
