I see his jaw tighten in anger as he looks from Archer to Seb, who is smirking as if he’s in on some secret. “How is your wife these days Mr Spencer?”
“Now listen…”
Archer steps further into his space, crowding him.
“Go on, go,” he hisses in frustration and as soon as Archer steps back, he rushes around him and heads into school like he can’t get away from us quick enough.
“What was that?” I ask as I watch our teacher’s hasty exit in shock.
Rafe winks at me. “Leverage, Little Red. Always make sure you have leverage…you never know when you might need it.”
I shake my head. This really is a world away from anything I am used to. How is it possible that three seventeen-year-old boys can control the teachers?
Verity links her arm with mine and urges me forward as Archer strides towards the SUV. “It’s best not to ask,” Verity advises me with a sigh. This is old news to her, she’s used to how these boys operate.
Seb joins us a few minutes later and from the frustrated look on his face I can tell he doesn’t bring good news.
“Well?” Archer asks him when he silently climbs in the front passenger seat, a deep frown marring his face.
“Nothing on the cameras. They mysteriously went offline for fifteen minutes, right around the time the parcel was delivered.”
Archer releases a frustrated sigh and looks at me through his rear mirror. “We’ll find out who’s doing this Scarlet, I promise you.”
Chewing on my lip I bob my head in response. Whoever is trying to scare me, they have resources, this isn’t some amateur kid here and this makes me wonder if my suspicions about Georgie are wrong. I mean, yes, she’s rich but she doesn’t strike me as overly smart.
