“Give him some space, Freya,” Seb says as he swings an arm over her shoulder and manoeuvre’s her away from Archer. “Come get a drink with me and let Archer cool down.”

Freya looks like she wants to protest, but with a quick glance back at Archer, she lets Seb guide her away.

I’m dying to ask Archer who she is, but my pride won’t let me. I mean, it’s not like we’re anything to each other.

“Looks like I earned you some good money tonight,” I say with a cocky smile. My hands in the pockets of my jeans as I drink in how good he looks right now.

He laughs as he opens a bottle of water and quenches his thirst. “Come on, let’s get out of here.”

“What about her?” I gesture with my head behind me, and he looks over the top of my head.

“What about her?” Archer asks me, his face devoid of any emotion.

I shrug. “She seems to think you’re going home with her. Like it’s a regular thing.”

He towels his hair and passes me his empty bottle. “I don’t give a flying fuck what she thinks, besides who I fuck is none of your business, Scarlet.”

His eyes burn into mine as I swallow. I hate that I want him. I hate that his presence makes me constantly aware of him and I hate that I’m burning with jealousy that he had a regular thing with her.

“You’re right, none of my business,” I say with a flippant smile. Fuck Archer Savage and the sweaty boat of hotness he sailed in on. No matter how good he looks right now, he’s still a complete arsehole, and I must never forget that or let my guard down.

“You’re quiet. That’s a first,” he observes as he throws the towel around his neck. Dev whistles and beckons him over and Archer gestures for me to follow him.

Dev hands him an envelope full of cash. “Good fight tonight. Are you back next month?”

“I’ll let you know.”

Dev holds an envelope out to me. “Same for you, Red Raven. You’re welcome back here anytime. You can fight, for a tiny thing.”

“Thanks, I think. And yeah, I’ll be back.”

When we make our way back to the others, Seb has returned, and Freya is nowhere to be seen. “Lets’ go.” Archer throws his keys to Rafe. “You can drive.”

Just as we reach the car, I hear someone shouting my name and turn to see Damon jogging over. Archer’s jaw tightens as he leans against the car and glares at him.

“He’s like a fucking puppy at your heels,” he mutters under his breath, his brows furrowed.

“Hey,” I say as Silver reaches me. I’m conscious of the tension between these two. I kind of like how furious Archer gets when Damon is around me.

“Can I have a word?” he asks me, not giving the others a second glance.

I nod my head and step to the side with him. “What is it Silver, I’m beat and need my bed.”

“Your bed or his?” he asks with an arch of his brow.

I fold my arms over my chest and give him a pointed look. “Whose bed I sleep in is none of your business. What did you want?”

“I heard Chester has returned to Alderman Manor.”

I nod my head with a frown. I didn’t know he knew Chester. “What of it?”

He looks over at Archer from the corner of his eye. “Look, just be careful around Chester, okay? He’s not a good person.”

I nod my head. “I can do that, but can you tell me why you’re giving me this warning?”

He sighs and takes a step backwards. “Just trust me on this one, okay?”

“Okay.” I turn and head back towards the others.
