Chapter Nine
We pull up at the Alderman mansion ten minutes later. I’ve barely unbuckled my belt when I’m yanked from the car and pushed up against the window of the rear seats.
“Where the fuck have you been, Scarlet?” I look up into the livid eyes of the number one thorn in my side.
“Nice to see you too, Savage.”
“Don’t roll those eyes at me, Eliza. I’ll ask you again, where the fuck have you been tonight?” Steam is practically coming out of his nostrils, he’s that fired up.
I sigh and place a hand on his chest. “Well, judging by your pissy attitude, I’m guessing you know where I’ve been. Let’s just cut to the chase, shall we?”
He grips my chin and forces my head back as he leans closer into my space. I hear a yelp and look over my shoulder to see Rafe throwing Vee over his shoulder and walking towards his car, throwing her into the passenger seat. “Catch you later,” he tells us before he screeches off down the drive. It looks like Vee is in for a telling off too.
Now I am alone with my nemesis, and when I look him in the eye, I swallow. What is it about him that has my blood rushing to my head every time he’s near me?
“Did I or did I not tell you to stay away from Silver?” he demands, leaning into me so are bodies are touching in every place possible.
“Yes, you did, but you also challenged me to take something from his house. Not sure how you expect me to do that without actually going to his house.”
He scoffs, “Don’t play innocent with me.” He pulls his phone from his pocket and places it in my face. “Want to explain this to me?”
I frown when I see the photo of Silver kissing me. Who the fuck took that? My frown deepens as I consider that maybe Damon sent it to him.
I sigh in exasperation, and I knock on his forehead with my fist. “Have you never seen a boy kiss a girl before, Savage?”
“You let him touch you,” he seethes. Looks like I’ve really poked the bear tonight.
I meet his fierce gaze with my own. “I did, and I might let him do it again.”
“Over my dead body,” he growls at me. His dark eyes burning with rage.
I shake my head in exasperation. “What is it with you? You hate me. You’ve made that clear, so why does it matter who I lock lips with?”
He steps right up, so our bodies are flush with each other’s. “I do hate you. I hate you with every breath in my body.”
I hold my hands up in the air. “So, stay out of my way then and I’ll stay out of yours.”
“Did you like it?’ he growls. “Him kissing you?”
I grin widely. “Oh, I liked it a lot.” That isn’t quite true. The kiss was pleasant, but it didn’t light my spark. Damon Silver is firmly in the friend zone. The angry guy in front of me though, he is in another zone altogether.

I’m burning with rage right now. I was having a game of poker with some of the lads when that photo came through on my phone. It shouldn’t have bothered me, but it did. No matter how much I hate her, she’s mine. She is my toy. She is mine to destroy. No one else gets to touch her.
I throw my cards down on the table and get to my feet. “We’re out of here.” Seb and Rafe don’t question me. They just place their cards down and follow me out of the room.
“Everything okay?” Seb asks as we head outside to our cars.
I turn and show them my phone screen. Seb takes in the photo and whistles. “Silver sure is playing with fire. How do you want to handle this?”
“I’ll deal with her first and then him,” I bark as I stalk to my car. Seb jumps in with me, and Rafe follows us in his own car. We drive to the Alderman Mansion.
“You think he knows about the contract?” Seb asks me.
I grip the steering wheel tighter. “I know he’s using her to get to me, so he must know something.”
“How though?” Seb asks, looking bewildered.
