Cole puts down his cue and makes a quick exit out of the back door just as the main door bangs open and Archer’s furious eyes find me. I stop dead still when I realise I am currently standing with my arms around the back of Daimon’s neck.
“Want to tell me why you have your hands on something that doesn’t belong to you, Silver?”
Silver holds up his hands and steps away from me. “I think your princess here just needed to cross over to the side she feels more at home on, but you knew where to find her anyway, with that tracker you have on her phone.”
I clear my throat and unwind my arms from around Silver’s neck and glare across the room at Archer. A god-damn tracker?
“Is this how you want to play it Scarlet?” he asks me, his eyes burning into mine. “There’s nowhere to escape. Now get your annoying arse over here. We’re leaving.”
I fold my arms over my chest and glare at him. “Like fuck I am.” I see the thunder in his eyes and turn on my heel to make for the back exit, but I’ve barely taken a step when his arm is around my waist, and I’m thrown over his shoulder.
Seb leans down and grinning he waves at me. “Bad kitty.”
Scowling at him, I give him the finger. “Put me the fuck down Archer!” I demand, pummelling his back with my fists.
“Tell your staff, Silver, that the next time he serves her drinks, he’ll have me to deal with.”
Silver chuckles. “If she hadn’t have got served here, she would have only gone somewhere else.”
“Put me down this fucking instance, Archer,” I order him, feeling beyond pissed off. His answer is to smack me hard on my arse, the sound echoing around the empty bar.
“Quiet, Scarlet. You’re in enough trouble as it is,” he barks at me as he turns and exits the bar with me dangling down his back.
I glower back at Damon. “Traitor,” I shout, and he raises his hands in front of him as if to say he did what he had to.
Archer throws me in the passenger seat and, snapping my belt tightly in place, he slams the door shut. Seb chuckles from the back seat and I twist round to glare at him just as Archer climbs in the driver’s seat.
“I fucking hate the three of you,” I snipe as I fold my arms and stare out of the window.
“Were you planning to fuck him?” Archer spits as he drives like a maniac down the tight winding roads.
“Can you not drive like a lunatic?” I ask him, clutching to the sides of my seat.
“Answer my fucking question,” he orders, and I jump at the dark bite in his tone.
“So, what if I was? This,” I say, pointing between the two of us, “this is just sex. We are not good together.”
Seb sniggers again from the back seat, and I whip round and glare at him. “You got something to say?”
Seb leans back in his seat and grinning, he looks over at Rafe. “Mum and Dad are fighting again.”
“Fuck you,” I hiss as I turn back around and face the front.
“You even think about letting another guy touch you and I’ll cut off his dick and leave it on your pillow.”
“Little Red’s just scared Arch,” Rafe pipes up from the back. “She’s scared she’s catching the feels. Isn’t that so, Eliza?”
A cold chill runs through my body as he hits the nail on the head. I can feel Archer’s eyes on me. “Is that what today was about? Are you falling for me, Scarlet?” he asks, the humour clear in his voice. “I know you think my dick is heavenly, but it’s just sex, Scarlet.”
I try not to visibly wince at his words, but I can’t deny the stab my heart feels. I snigger and look over at him. “Don’t flatter yourself Archer Savage. It will be a cold day in hell before I ever fall for you. We have good sex. It’s nothing more than that.”
“Is that so?” he asks me, brows cocked.
“Yep,” I answer, tilting my chin in the air. He hits the brakes suddenly and I hold out my hand to steady myself. “What the hell?” He puts the car into reverse and heads back the way we just came.
“Where are we going?” I ask him as he speeds down the road, his jaw tense and his grip on the steering wheel making his knuckles whiten.
“You have a stalker out there who is filming you and sending you dead fucking birds, and you think it’s a good idea to go AWOL on your own to a seedy bar?”
