She giggles, leaning down and nuzzling my neck. “I need to get back to my car, so I can go home, brush my teeth, and get ready for work.”

“Wear one of those skirts with pleats today.” I slide my hand up and pull my shirt open, exposing her breasts. Fuck, she is pure perfection, and I’d love nothing more than to lie in bed with her all day, but I have other plans that require her going home and getting ready for the day. “I want you to be able to spread your legs wide while I bend you over my desk and take you from behind.”

Squealing, she sits up to look down at me. “Camden!”

“Don’t get bashful on me now, Margot. You’ve teased me for a long time, but now that I’ve made you come, I’m not going to be able to go a whole day without a taste.” I smile and playfully smack her ass.

She reaches between our bodies and strokes my cock. “Maybe I can’t go a whole day without a taste of you?”

“Sounds like we’re perfect for each other.” My alarm goes off again, the second of three alarms I have set.

Margot glances at the clock. “We are going to be very late.”

“Take a shower with me and then I’ll drop you off at your car. You can show up to work whenever you get there—in a pleated skirt, of course.”

MARGOT

Iarrived almost two hours late for work, but to be fair, Camden dropped me off at my car an hour after our work day started. To save time, I brought bagel sandwiches and coffee as a late breakfast, an early lunch for us. Except, when I got to my temporary desk, I found Camden’s door closed and his calendar clear starting at two. I could have sworn he had a three and a four o’clock today.

After hours of silence, his door remaining shut, Camden walks off the elevator.

“I thought you were in your office.”

He shakes his head, takes my hand, and pulls me to my feet. With little regard as to who might walk in on us, Camden pulls me into his arms and kisses me tenderly. “Let’s grab a bite.”

“I brought you a sandwich and coffee, but they’re now cold.”

“Did you notice my calendar?” He slides his finger down my cheek, staring into my eyes. There is a subtle seriousness to him, different from the stress I noticed yesterday, but lacking his normal joviality.

“You cleared your afternoon.”

“Right. So, let’s grab a bite.”

“Whatever you say, boss.” I wink at him and kiss his chin.

“I’m not your boss. Not really. You don’t have to do what I say.” He links his fingers with mine and brings my hand up to his lips. “But I like it when you do.”

We drive into downtown, and I’m half suspecting he’s going to take me back to his condo for a little afternoon delight. I don’t call him on it because I wouldn’t mind starting our weekend early. I’m hoping we spend most of it in bed, considering how much I enjoyed last night.

He pulls into the garage under the courthouse, next door to a tapas restaurant, as well as a steak house and sushi bar. But why would he park here when there was valet parking at the steak house? “Where are we going?”

Camden parks the car and then slides his hand off my thigh to open the glove box, pulling out a small velvet box. “You have two choices, Margot, and although I know which one I prefer, neither choice is wrong.”

My gaze tracks the box and then locks onto Camden’s golden brown eyes. “What are my choices?”

“We grab a bite, or we go upstairs and get married.” He pops open the box to reveal the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. It’s vintage, or at least it appears to be with its beautiful canary yellow princess cut diamond surrounded by pave diamonds and gold filigree.

“Oh, my god. You’re serious?”

“When I asked you to marry me last night, you said yes. Have you changed your mind?”

“No, I haven’t changed my mind, but…” I clutch his bicep to ground myself, my brain buzzing and body tingling as if I’m floating in a sensory deprivation tank.

He pulls my hand from his arm and slides the ring on my finger before bringing my hand to his mouth. “Marry me, Margot. Make me happy and be my wife.”

“Yes.” Tears fall down my cheeks as he pulls me into his arms. “I love you. Nothing would make me happier than being your wife.”
