““Can’t Stop the Feeling’ by Justin Timberlake.”

He snorts out a laugh and points at Duncan.

“‘It’s a Kind of Magic’.”

They all chuckle.

“What’s mine?” Zee asks, taking his phone out of his pocket with a wicked glint.

“‘Attention’ by Charlie Puth.”

I narrow my eyes as he cocks his head and his cheeky tongue peaks out. “Sexual” by Neiked, purrs from my pocket. I roll my eyes. He can’t help himself.

“What’s Archan’s?” Emi asks with a smile.

“‘Dark Horse’ by Katie Perry.” Although until last week it was “S and M” by Rhianna, and after the last hour I’m not sure if I should have changed it.

She nods. “Appropriate.”

“Do I get one?” Zac huffs.

“Erm…”

He grabs his phone from the sofa before calling me. Janet Jackson’s unique voice echoes around the room. He raises his eyebrows.

“So Archan gets a song about him being a stallion in bed, Jed gets one about all the feels he can give people, even the demon you’ve known for five minutes gets one about not being afraid of him, and mine is “Nasty”?”

“And we get to know you have an awesome and varied taste in music. Wow, other than our attraction to Archan, this is the first thing we have in common.”

Nathan snorts a laugh and comes to stand next to me. “Call Zac.” I frown and hit Zac’s name on my phone. A second passes before Muses “Psycho” comes through loud and clear.

I arch an eyebrow. “Really, Zacy, at least mine is retro cool. You are calling me a psycho.”

“Well, now that our musical education is up to date, should we return to the bat cave?” Jed asks, looping an arm around me.

I tuck my phone back in my pocket and grin. “Sure, what order are we going in?”

Jed’s grin spreads wider. “I have a privileged pass now, babe. Duncan rewrote the wards to let me and you in.”

I glance at Duncan, who gives me a little shrug. “He lost his shit when we couldn’t find you. The god of emotions losing their shit is not a pleasant experience. I think he’s proved himself trustworthy.”

“I want to know what the demon says,” Zac grits out.

“Sure, I’ll put a message out in the group chat.”

He frowns. “Wait? What? I’m not in any group chat!”

Jed chuckles as the room swirls out of view so we can trip through another dimension. We land in the bat cave seconds before Duncan arrives with Emi.

“You didn’t get on the list?” I ask as Duncan and Jed both disappear.

She shakes her head. “I didn’t want to be. The fewer people who have access to this place, the safer you are.”

Duncan appears with Zee, whilst Jed appears with a dumbstruck-looking Aaden. It’s not the first time he’s teleported through another dimension, but even I’m awestruck every single time. He blinks whilst looking between Emi and Jed.

“He’s still in awe about the other dimension.”

“But I already popped his dimensional cherry,” Emi says with a straight face.
